We safely arrived in New Zealand a few days ago after three flights, five security screenings and two buses. Because of some bad food poisoning 🤢, we haven't been out exploring very much. So, here's one last photo from Bangkok. Hope everyone is staying healthy on their travels. But also, if you do get sick, you're not alone. And, you'll get better 😄

Thais keep their resident spirits happy by offering daily food and drink to them. In return, the spirits protect their homes and businesses. Pretty good deal!!

We spent today exploring Thonglor neighborhood in Bangkok. It felt almost as peaceful as this beach in Koh Mook. When we first arrived in Bangkok three months ago, it felt overwhelming and chaotic. Now, it feels calm, clean and well-connected. Saigon really puts things into perspective. 😂

We're back in Bangkok and falling more in love with this city each day. Just as the sun was setting today, we took this photo of Wat Ratchaburana (Wat Liab). This beautiful prang was restored in 1962, years after being damaged during World War II. Bangkok was bombed by the Japanese and the Allies during the war. We're embarrassed to say, we didn't know about Thailand's involvement and losses during the Second World War. We have a lot to learn. #thailand#lsfhtravel

Koh Mook means Pearl Island in Thai. Though we only saw a few islands in the Andaman Sea, we wholeheartedly agree.

Heavy lifting and no shoes. We marvel at how Thai people manage strenuous work each and everyday without the protective clothing and gear we have in the west. Moreover we're grateful for all the seen and unseen work that's performed to ensure that we (and all visitors) can enjoy our time on these beautiful Thai Islands.

Thailand's karst landscape provides so many opportunities for exploration. One of the most thrilling experiences we've had was swimming in a spider-filled limestone cave in Khao Sok. Another memorable experience was kayaking around Koh Mook to secluded beaches. It's hard to say whether the outside or the inside of these mountains are more beautiful.

Today, we went snorkeling just off Sunrise Beach in Koh Lipe. Unfortunately, we didn't have a device to capture the magic we saw, so we'll try to describe it. The sun rays penetrate the surface of the water and seem to dance over the coral landscape. Soft corals move gently with the current, revealing tiny neon fish. The diversity and color of the fish were astonishing. We saw parrot fish, pennant butterfly fish, clown fish (Nemo), surgeon fish, sergeant major fish and so many others. #kohlipe

Do you see the poster of the late King? Everywhere we go, we see photos and images of the former King Adulyadej: on billboards and on paper money, in massage pavilions and in guesthouses, the list goes on. It seems like he's always watching. Did you know it's illegal to criticize the monarchy in Thailand?

The prettiest Thai island so far, and the busiest. We're spending the day walking along the coast of Koh Lipe. 🐠What are you up to?

It's high season in the Thai Islands. A lot of travelers are here to relax and soak up as much sun as they can. As westerners delight in their browning skin, many Thai are doing what they can to achieve the opposite effect. If you've ever tried to buy a facial product in Thailand, you know what we're talking about. We don't know how prevalent skin whitening is in Thailand, but we see it everywhere we go: advertisements, products and usage. When I (Sabrina) see posters of ghostly white models promoting whitening skincare, I can't help but think of the airbrushed models on magazine covers in the U.S. Whether it's skinnier bodies, sexier hair, younger skin, whiter skin, it's all the same thing in the end. The beauty industry profits from people (especially women) believing they are not good enough, not pretty enough, not enough. But, the truth is, you are enough. We are enough.
