Redfish bite was great as well. These bit on back to back casts, and they were crushing the @rapalausa Twitchin Minnow! Always a good fight with these fish!

With these warm temps, I figured I needed to check out what's happening on the flats. Found some nice fish, and got a pretty good sunburn for February!
This #Jackalllures Bonnie has been putting some work in! She put a few big trout in the kayak today, and is about ready for retirement!

These fish get my blood pumping like nothing else, especially when I pull up to the spot and the mullet start frantically skipping across the surface! Put a perfect cast right past them, and the rod loaded up slowly like it was dragging bottom. Felt it start to move a little so I set the hook, and this big girl came up thrashing on the surface! One of the biggest of the year so far, and as the second picture shows, was lucky to get a hook in her!

Conservation is very important, and we always try to get these big trout back in the water as fast as possible. They only go on the board if the hook comes out quickly, and I always try to keep it under 30 seconds from landing them to the release. Just trying to do my part for the future of our great fishery.

Post front bite was different than usual. The bigger fish were short striking the lure and ended up losing several, but we did manage to land a few nice ones that choked the swimbait. Lipping a trout is not always the best idea though...

Heading out into a new area tonight looking for some of those big trout. This kayak has been amazing, and makes the search so much easier!

A few pieces of equipment that make my night fishing easier. That Rhythm Wave was used for 4 nights straight and caught over 100 fish, and is still ready for more! Not having to re-rig while on the water is always nice. The 842c gives you the ultimate feel so you know exactly what that swimbait is doing at all times, and the super light tip lets those fish inhale that bait so you don't pull it away from them. Swapped the gears out on the Curado to 6.5:1 to slow it down some, once the adrenaline starts flowing it's so hard to slow down. And finally the Power-Pole Micro makes setting up on these fish a breeze. Between the pedals of the PDL and the Micro pole, I never even have to sit down, and move in total stealth!

Stupid water spots! Between the rain and this monster thrashing yak side, the pictures didn't work out to well 😔 She crushed the Bonnie, and took off like a bullet! Cranking that handle as fast as I could, it was all I could do to try to catch up with her!

🐊🐊 hunting, and calling my shots. 3rd cast of the night, and I told him "thats the one" right before the 🔨 dropped!

Last night was definitely one of those nights where I just had to sit back and ask myself "what is going on"!! Big trout after big trout kept thumping that Rhythm Wave for 3 hours straight, and I didn't even have to move! The numbers at the end of the night were insane!

Felt that thump, but knew something was different as soon as it started pulling. Was really glad to see this appear in the darkness!
