REPOST from @yogajournal "Forgiveness doesn’t always happen right away, but the process can begin immediately. Actively engaging in the forgiveness process begins our journey toward deeper understanding, and the remembrance that everything happens for a reason. When we’re able to extract wisdom from our past dramas and traumas, we’re able to gain direct knowledge. Looking back, we can become grateful for the things that happened to us in the past, for helping us to grow and become more aware.” — @mcyogi
In this excerpt from the newly released edition of The Art of Attention, @elenabrower and her coauthor @jagoyoga embody MC Yogi's wise words on the practice of #forgiveness in a tender #asana sequence. Link in bio!

Pretending, hiding, lying to yourself and others, judging, being hard on yourself uses a lot of your emotional energy that you could be using for other activities. Being true to yourself, expressing immidiatly what's coming up, living our true values and the most important: seeing yourself and as you are.
Accepting and learning how to deal with your shadow sides would give you a freedom to operate in this world.
I hope you all had an amazing weekend!⠀
Mine was spent in a dope cabin in the mountains with the funniest group of friends - check out my story to see how much snow there was, holy molyyy ⛄️⠀
I'll post more about our mini-trip later this week, but for now, I'm indulging in some additional rest & relaxation before my teaching blocks start up again tomorrow.⠀
I’ve also signed myself up for a 6:15am spin class tomorrow, so.. that’s what I’m mentally preparing for right now, lol 😑🚲💦⠀
If you're in the Vancouver area, you can see my current teaching schedule @ www.kingagorski.com⠀
*Side note: one of my 2018 goals is to get my website revamped, but until then, it relays the information juuust fine 😏⠀
Let me know which class/studio I'll see you at this week!⠀
In light of the Women’s March yesterday, and all these posts about women empowerment and making a difference and encouraging change in this world that we so desperately need. I’m going to shoutout this woman, and share a little story.
So a couple months ago we did a live workout together with one of our favorite trainers, @shaunt 💪🏼 half way through this super crazy HIIT workout we were doing this move called diamond jumps and we were both struggling HARD, sweat dripping down our faces, breathing uncontrollably, I didn’t think I was gonna make it. I turned towards her and we locked eyes and cranked out the next 30 seconds of this move TOGETHER. There’s literally no way I would’ve done it if it wasn’t for her pushing me through and showing up beside me. After the workout I thought about that moment, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It’s why we do what we do as coaches. Yes it’s our job, and yes we get paid for it, but in all honesty, what we do...I would do for free. It’s easy to complain, it’s easy to point fingers, and it’s even pretty easy to march. But what’s NOT easy is doing the work. What’s not easy is doing the things you need to do to step up and actually make a change, to take a leadership position, and be the exception NOT the rule.
I don’t think becoming a Coach is the answer, but I do know that for me, it’s given me an avenue to wake up every morning and actually make a difference. To know that I’m doing something that maybe down the road will crate a ripple effect in enough peoples lives that they will feel empowered, and they’ll feel strong enough to step up and DO something about it, just like my coach did for me.
So my question for you is this - outside of the March that happened yesterday, what are you going to do in your workplace to make a change, to make sure that ALL voices are heard, and to push for the truth and act like the woman we WANT to represent? 👭💗👭 #TeamRootToRise#teambeachbody

Tuning in to Kali in daily life often means tuning in to aspects of yourself that you normally don't have access to, a power that can reach outside the conventional to become bold and fierce—fierce in love, fierce in ecstasy, fierce in your willingness to stand up to the demons in yourself and others. .
Kali represents massive transformation, non-conformity, boundary-pushing, life and death cycles, responsibility and accountability for mistakes, karmic mess cleanup, wild and untamable sexuality, total surrender, and the intensity of love and compassion. Kali is the essence of Freedom and she is the force within that transforms fear and sets you free.
Home sweet home. 🤓🤓🤓 I’m doing a dry January and I’m pretty sure I sweat out all the toxins from 2017 after teaching hot yoga for 4 1/2 hours today. About to make a cup of tea and finish reading The Fifth Agreement for my book club. 😘 #weekendvibes#selfiesunday#yogateacherlife#yogaoffthemat 🔥❤️📚🧘🏽♀️🕉🔥❤️📚🤸🏾♂️🕉🔥

This year my word is LIMITLESS. It came to me one morning in my meditation and since then, of course, everything that has occurred so far this year has had a lesson about limitless living embedded in it. So when I saw this quote twice within a day or so never having seen it before, it struck me strongly, especially if applied to both love and life. Hence it is my quote for the week ahead.... would love to hear if you have a word for the year or a quote about limitless living you love? Happy Monday lovelies ❤️x

I often wonder what it would be like to see myself through someone else’s perspective. I believe I might see less of the flaws and more of the beauty. I’m not posting this because I want to receive a bunch of you’re beautiful comments. I know I am beautiful, but I am so much more than beautiful on the outside. I am deeply and wholeheartedly a beautiful soul who cares about her community and wants to connect with and support her sisters. I want to share mala-making with you so you can be empowered to make and work with these tools for mindfulness and meditation. It’s not easy to find a balance. Everyday is about finding the ease within the struggle—I work with Asian movement, sound, mantra, and singing to loosen and relax tense muscles. To quiet the chattering in the mind I work with pranayama and visualization. As the spine comes into alignment, there is a point when we can “drop in” and outside noises fade away. There is a peace. So grounded as you sit on the forest floor, yet feeling a sense of weightlessness in the silence. You can feel space. You can feel that the energy moving in and around you is aligned. You are suspended as witness to this beautiful serenity. You look around at the tall pine trees that surround you and their dead needles flutter from the heavens like golden snowflakes. All around you is the sparkle of alignment. All around you is your soul vibrating in harmony with the universe. In your eyes lives that same sparkle. .

Sunday is a nice day for reflecting and planning for the week ahead. All this week I was teaching crow, the “gateway” arm balance - how many of you came to class, and were able to find crow this week with the help of your intention and your drishti?
In 2002 I looked around the yoga room with amazement at everyone trying (and nailing!) this pose. I tried again, falling. I pretended to listen to my teacher, and then tried again, muscling through - fall. Many, many, many classes, many falls - and then a moment of float! Followed by a fall. That moment though - the float part - I felt so powerful.
With practice, things get easier.
I’m teaching my workshop Hey There Handstand at @mightyyogaithaca on Saturday 3/31 from 1-2pm. Come practice with me! Space is limited ✨ Sign up link in bio.
Watching the plethora of crows and squirrels outside our big windows on the many, many trees we so gratefully are surrounded by, while I put together my yoga sequences for tonight’s yummy Yin Restorative class. Have I mentioned I am now happily teaching at 3 different yoga studios???? Teaching like a mad womyn & LOVING IT! 🧘🏻♀️ #yogateacherlife#yogateacherpdx#portlandyoga#mycatsaremykids#lovinlife
