I think I’ve figured it. I keep tying to get back into my practice by jumping back into where I left off when I was deep in my practice before Grace was born. I was practicing daily and taught up until I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and only stopped because it was comical watching me try to get up and down off the ground lol so every time I try to get back to my mat, I try to get right back to vineyasa/power flows and dropping off because I get frustrated my body cannot do what it used to. I carried a baby, breastfed her for 2 1/2 year, have gained additional weight, and work in a job where I drive and sit A LOT. My hips and hamstrings are not ready to get right back to where they used to be. So I’m focusing on just restorative and yin yoga for my hips/hamstrings/etc. and for those of you who do yin and restorative, you know it’s no walk in the park owwwww!
Very much enjoyed my Yoga session today with a couple of @yogaglo videos. The plus side of practising at home, is I am able to do it in my jammies. 😂Marco was ever present as usual, he loves rolling around me when I’m Yoga-ing 😂😺

Hey IG fam! As you may have seen on our insta stories, we made a last minute decision to fly from Sydney to New York to join the very first @1GiantMind meditation teacher training with @JonniPollard. It was one of those decisions that required putting logic aside and following our heart. After just one week, it’s become crystal clear that this training spells out the opening paragraph of the next chapter of our life. As we dive deeper into the rabbit hole of “being” and the mechanics of consciousness in context of global needs and the pressing challenges of our time, the importance of meditation as an evolutionary tool is undeniable. It’s hard to see a brighter future for our children unless we, the caretakers of this planet, find a way to reconnect with our innate sense of being and belonging. Claudine and I feel a renewed sense of responsibility to introduce the practice of meditation to anyone willing to sit in silence and listen. Simply put, meditation is no longer a choice, but a necessity. BIG thanx to Jonni and his team for putting together a clear teacher training roadmap with such a powerful intention. We feel honored to join this first group of 16 incredible teachers, training to be certified in the 1GM meditation technique:
...and @sofiephoenix 👶🏼🙏🏼
P.S. we’re taking over the @1giantmind insta tomorrow, so tune in for more insight/shenanigans from the training! #1GMbestjob
Yoga is built on patterns. Creating a habitual behavior is a wonderful way to be more efficient with your time and provide structure to your actions; for example, it’s likely that you take the quickest route to work every morning, or you may find that practicing yoga at the same time every day ensures that it happens.
But what happens when you break away from the norm?
Try stepping away from the safe, the convenient, the known, and open yourself to new possibilities. By breaking a pattern, you make space for creativity and newness. You may even find that the patterns you’ve created were born from stories you’ve told yourself about who you are and what your limitations are. What habits have you created that perhaps are holding you back from meeting your potential? What would happen if you tried steering off course just once?
Share your stories with us using #yogaglo and we’ll share to our Instagram Story at the end of the week.
January #ACROVINYASA Challenge
DAY 21: Heart Pose (Anahatasana)
1) Begin on hands and knees. Walk hands forward with arms extended whilst keeping hips stacked over knees.
2) Rest forehead or chin on the ground and lengthen through the arms. Keep elbows lifted in order to surrender deeper into chest and shoulders.
3) Breathe deeply and consciously allow heart to melt toward the ground with each exhale

Weekend yoga vibes has me feeling pretty grateful for this little furry man and all the beauty that is right now. 🐶❤️
Do your furry friends interrupt your workouts? .
Workout from @yogaglo with my fave instructor @kathrynbudig 🙏🏼❤️
One of my favourite times of the day is when I stop to do my self-practice. 🧘🏼♀️
One cannot teach what doesn’t practice and live.
Ok, I know that being nice to your neighbour or not committing violence against all living beings is also yoga. And that yoga is not just asanas (so agree with this one!).
However, when it comes to know yourself and stop the fluctuations of the mind, we sometimes forget the power of asana to lead us toward the higher goals of yoga - mastery of the mind and a deeper connection to the inner self. 🧘🏼♀️
Asana can sharpen our senses, draw the mind back into the body, and anchor our awareness in the ever-calm, ever-clear inner witness.
Whenever I practice asana I’m always trying to find that balance between steady and comfortable. Seeking this equilibrium is what it’s all about!
This constant exploration between steady and comfortable in Asana / yoga postures, as with all things, impacts our daily life. Asana teaches us to strengthen areas of weakness, shed light on places unlit and relax areas of contraction. It encourages us to practice acceptance, allowing things to just ‘BE’ and teaches us to cultivate balance in our life - to live with contentment and ease.
I saw this quote a while back and figured Day 2 of #releaseandrecharge—my first release pose(Matsyasana/Fish Pose) of the challenge would be the perfect opportunity to use it
“Maybe the journey
isn’t so much about
Maybe it’s about
everything that isn’t
so you can be who
you were meant to
be in the first place.”
Focusing on releasing all the things I was told I needed to do and be so I can put that energy into something more productive
Ok now your turn! What are you guys releasing from 2017??
You will usually see this pose practiced with legs straight but anytime I can sneak in a quad stretch I do 🤷♀️
Modifications and variations
↠place a block on the low height under your head and one on the middle height under your shoulder blades or just the medium height under your shoulder blades
↠place a blanket under your shoulder blades for support
↠having your legs in lotus 🌙
Remember to tag all hosts and sponsors, use the hashtag #releaseandrecharge and check what release or recharge pose the other hosts are practicing!
