"Let us go now into the forest.
Trees will pass by your face,
and I will stop and offer you to them,
but they cannot bend down.
The night watches over its creatures,
except for the pine trees that never change:
the old wounded springs that spring
blessed gum, eternal afternoons.
If they could, the trees would lift you
and carry you from valley to valley,
and you would pass from arm to arm,
a child running
from father to father."
Gabriela Mistral - Pine Forest
I don’t know about you but I’m already tired of winter. It has been so cold here and it’s just put me into a state where I just want to hibernate. But yesterday was a bit warmer and I decided to go for a walk because I hadn’t been on a walk outside because of the cold in about a month. But something magical happened. As I was walking a hawk flew right in front of me and landed in a tree and stared at me. Then I looked over and saw the most gorgeous sunset I had seen in a very long time. So I walked up the hill to get a better picture and there sitting on a sign was the hawk. It was incredible. The colors were the most vibrant I had seen in a long time. So I thought to myself these colors wouldn’t look as vibrant without the contrast of the snow on the ground. In winter we want so much for the warm to return and for summer to come that we forget what it is for. Winter teaches us to be quiet, to be alone and contemplate, to reflect on where we want to go. Every season has a purpose and if we just keep waiting for summer to come to be happy we will never be present in what is. I hope you find some time for quiet reflection and take some time for yourself today. #lifecoaching#winterblues#beingalone#quietreflection#wintersunset#selfreflection
Happy and frozen✨
The point, I suppose, is the place you get to when you realize that the shortest path between two places isn’t a straight line, but a shoreline. Its when you finally recognize that rivers, regardless of their twists and turns, always take the most efficient path to the sea. .
Or maybe its not a place at all, since that point, the one off in the distance, looks quite a bit different once you arrive. .
That is the point.
