What I love most about California (other than the fact that you only get snow when you WANT to seek it out) is how big and vast the state is. Want mountains? A few hours away. ⛰ The beach? Got that too. 🌊🌵 We have deserts, big cities, small coastal towns, and of course, some of the best wine regions in the world! 🍷 I love our little girls trip to Sonoma this past week - the perfect example of taking advantage of living in California! It was a short but sweet trip. We stayed at @eldoradosonoma right on the Sonoma Plaza and tasted at @panglosscellars. You can learn more about both of these places on the blog today, link in bio! 🍷✨ You can also shop my outfit there, too! #eldoradosonoma#panglosscellars#sonomaplaza#visitsonoma#iheartsonoma
🔸🔹Un calice di Basilisco
Abbinato con 👇👇👇👇
The cave – Mumford & Sons
Schietti, come l’Aglianico.
Colore rosso rubino, lava, primi riflessi granati.
“So come out of your cave walking on your hands
And see the world hanging upside down
You can understand dependence when you know the maker's heart”.
Basilisco, Aglianico del Vulture Superiore Cruà 2013, Basilisco Vini
The cave, Mumford & Sons, Sigh no more, 2009.

Masseto&Pétrus: respectively, Italy and France’s most famous 100% Merlot and some of the world most powerful wine brands! They are both made from clay soil next to the sea and they both have broken records of awards, price and fame. Both of them, although in different times, challenged the wine establishment as newbies and like the greatest heroes got right to the top. Masseto’s first vintage in 1986 was possibly inspired by its great French cousin! When I was given the opportunity to pair the two bottles back to back by some of my historical wine collectors, the restaurant owner @LeScuderie handed over the corkscrew and the epical battle begun although the only winners were the lucky guests at the table!

All wines were a delight, the two 08’s showing off their pedigree but the wine of the afternoon was Marchand’s CSD 14. A haunting burgundy nose that gave way to ripe red toned fruits on the palate. An absolute beauty.
