Flora by @mgvsol is a beautiful blend that also introduces some new varietals to Swirl's shelves! A field blend of: Riesling, Schoeurebe, and Gelber Muskateller Weinvertel, Austria 2015.
We have actually never carried Scheurebe or Gelber Muskateller wines before! That being said, it's easy to see where this two varietals play towards Riesling's strengths and make up for some of it's short comings. The strengths? Aromas of lime and tart green apples, which, in the Flora, are accentuated and highlighted with additional notes of honeyed lemons and jasmine. The short comings? Riesling tends to either be on the sweet side, or on the highly acidic side - these are nowhere to be seen, instead exchanged for Gruner-like minerality and touches of gingered nectarines. This wine really shows the artistry that comes with blending varietal parts to make an incredible finished product.
Tough love! Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts Monopole 2002.
A rare sight. Elegant year, so beloved of wine makers in Burgundy.
Hard but very fine. Thin Fine Line. V linear. Lovely and love hurts!

Leoness DIY Food & Wine pairings NOT available at The Restaurant but perfect to pair at home with our wines.🍷👌🏻
This Carne Asada is full of flavor! The secret to this steak dinner is in the no-mess marinade - lime juice, orange juice, jalapeño pepper, chili powder, salt, pepper and cilantro. The @tiphero recipe is below. What Leoness wine should I choose for this carne asada marinade? 🤷🏼♂️
A general rule is that the spicier the food, the colder and sweeter the wine should be. Also, lower alcohol wines and moderate tannins dissolve the burning sensation of capsicum. Normally you would reach for a RED WINE with RED MEAT. That is a good rule of thumb. However, there are times when a nice white wine might pair better. In this case we think our 2016 Melange de Blanc with its crisp flavors will pair beautifully with the spices of the Carne Asada Marinade.
-2 Pounds Flank, Hanger, or Skirt Steak, trimmed
-2 Tablespoons Lime juice (juice of 2 limes)
-1/2 Cup Orange Juice (juice of 1 to 2 small oranges)
-4 to 6 cloves Garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
-1 Jalapeno, minced
-3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
-1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
-1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
-1 Cup chopped fresh Cilantro
-To Taste Kosher Salt
-To Taste Ground Black Pepper
Place the steak in a gallon-sized resealable bag. Add the lime juice, orange juice, garlic, jalapeño, olive oil, chili powder, white vinegar, cilantro, salt, and ground black pepper. Remove any excess air before tightly sealing the bag. Gently massage the steak in the marinade to coat. Allow the steak to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight. Remove steak from resealable bag and discard the excess marinade. Heat a grill or grill pan on high. Once grill is hot, cook steak until done to your liking. After cooking, allow steak to rest 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve warm.
Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse 1988. Medium acidity and little tannin left. Cigarbox, mushroom, and dry fruits. 시음적기는 좀 지난듯 하지만 뽀이약 올빈은 매력있다 #wine#winestagram#와인#와인스타그램

🎪🎪 To the circus we go: 8% ABV Gamay sparkler from Tricot, one of our favorite French producers. As Ina Garten might say, “If you can’t conjure up summertime fun, store bought is fine.” Hazy pink hue, saline funk on the nose, tart fruit, and some soft, textured herbs on the finish. A bit off dry but wild.
