Meet gorgeous George, an orphaned red kangaroo joey! Did you know that George will grow up to be about 1.5m tall? He’s the world’s largest living marsupial and an icon of the Australian outback #wildlifewednesday
Thank you to everyone who checked in on me. I wasn’t home all weekend so I haven’t released my fab 4! I promise I will let you know when I do. James is happy at his new home, Hamlet was euthanized because of internal bleeding and the 10 rescues over the weekend in my video story were euthanized because of car collisions. What surprised me is how many of you asked why I euthanized them?? I always try to keep you updated on my doings but with as little information as possible because no one else should have the images in their mind that I will always carry in mine... the “least” graphic Deer rescue I handled this weekend had no back legs, torn off on impact... I hope that gives you an idea why I don’t go into details. In my heart I know I’m saving them no matter what the outcome may be.... Also thank you for the birthday wishes ❤️ #alllivesmatter#bestnonpayingjobever#kindnessmatters#bittersweet
A few evenings ago I stumbled across a Little blue penguin on the beach across from my house... an unusual spot to find them in Kaikoura! This guy looked pretty exhausted so Kaikoura wildlife rescue came to its aid ! And Just in time , with the cyclone on its way ! They are pretty resilient little birds so hopefully he’s swimming around in the big blue backyard again soon ! #rescue#wildliferescue#littlebluepenguin#nz#kaikoura#smallestpenguin#bokeh

A never-before-seen visitor arrived at our clinic after being found in Oceano contaminated by oil. This Ancient Murrelet is a small pelagic bird that breeds on forested islands far to the north of us. When just two days old, the tiny chicks leave the burrow nest and make a perilous midnight run to join their parents waiting offshore. Our visitor has been washed and is recovering his strength and his waterproofing. We hope to send him on his way soon.
Pete and Big Red, our resident red eared slider turtles, couldn’t decide on who gets to be directly under the heat lamp so they compromised!
These turtles can be found in freshwater in Nova Scotia but they are not a native species. Red eared sliders were a popular pet in Canada and the Northern United States until it was made illegal in some areas including Nova Scotia. They were often released into the wild where they didn't belong (displacing native species) when they got too big or were no longer wanted by their owner.
I always get attached to the ones whose prognosis isn't good. (Maybe it's the handfeeding?) Someone had this little hummingbird for too long before bringing it in, which doesn't help. Crossing all my fingers and toes for this cutie though! #hummingbird#wildliferescue#wildliferehab#protectwildlife
I really love everything that @wildlifewonderland does so y'all go ahead and head to their page, read about the injustice that is being done to them and buy a shirt or donate money to help them and their animals! I hope that I can get mine before the date runs out! #sticktogether#unitedwestand#dividedwefall#stickittotheman#wildlife#wildliferescue#helpthoseinneed#Repost@wildlifewonderland (@get_repost)

Hey everyone it’s Fuzzy @fuzzyfawn Kate and I had a busy but successful night🙏 I picked this little girl up during the night and took her to Nora’s Ark. She was fairly healthy just very cold. I found her on the side of road in a ditch of cold water. We did everything to make her comfortable and warm. Throughout the night once warmed up Kate said she was up and anxious to move on. After a healthy meal, Kate opened the pen and she joined a few of the fawns Kate already released. Happy Ending #teamwork
I know I can speak for Kate, we want you to know your generosity and support is extremely appreciated. Not only are you helping us prepare for the upcoming fawn season but you are also helping with the care of every deer that comes through our doors, whether they are released back to the wild or released from their pain and suffering. Thank you so much 🙏❤️ #support#thankyou#kindnessmatters
This beautiful young Southern Heath Monitor (Varanus rosenbergi) was unfortunately run over on the road losing 3/4 of its tail which had to be amputated... double thumbs up to Jess and all the legendary volunteers @caring_for_reptiles_sw_wa for giving this little guy and all the other rescued reptiles a second chance. 🐲🙏🙌🙌
This is Farah's first time meeting another chimp. 😭 #wildliferescue#chimps#savewildlife (📹: @apeactionafrica)

This is the same Allen’s from our last post, just as he was coming out of torpor. This is the stage where they are more lucid, but haven’t quite figured out that humans are helping them. The next stage is fully awake, fully outraged.
Sometimes finders tell us an injured wild animal they came upon “likes” them. This is never a good sign for the animal, or the finder, if they’re not careful. Please visit the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association website’s section “Help! I’ve Found a Wild Animal!” for info on what to do when you find yourself in this situation.
Good Morning!!! I was looking for Boo this morning and she was 10ft from me, laying in the snow and I couldn’t see her. She was motionless 👍 Her coat in the snow is outstanding camouflage. Much needed acknowledgements this morning, Huge thank you to @elbasmeow@lacree2@dalliekat@teri_cristine@brushesnblunts , I apologize but I cannot find some of your Instagram names Norma S, Michelle T, and Erin A!!! PLEASE if I haven’t acknowledged you let me know. The gift thank you paper from Amazon is very small and it gets lost in the packaging. Thank you also to everyone who has sent a PayPal donation!!!! Always grateful for my Jenny @jennyp2017 no words for her devotion, generosity and kindness. I wouldn’t have my Etsy shop without her🙏 ! Everything you have purchased will help me save a lot of babies this season. We’re saving lives together 🙏❤️ #teamwork#bestnonpayingjobever#grateful
