I decided to use one of my own journals to make art and write down some of my favorite lyrics 💖 Song: Howling by Ry and Frank Wiedemann

Trying out handmade watercolors by @designsbyrachelbeth !! And oh my Wowwww! I’m amazed at how beautiful they are! Well, it’s a rabbit hole 🤷🏻♀️
Next in my Greek Constellation Series.. This is the Phoenix, one of my favorite mythical creatures. .
4" X 6" Watercolor Painting .
A phoenix in Greek mythology was a bird that could live for a long time and could also be regenerated or reborn from the ashes of its predecessor. Some sources say that the phoenix simply died and decomposed before being reborn, but others claim that it would combust and die wrapped in flames. It was believed that it could live over 1400 years at a time.
If you’re a business owner, you’ll probably recognize this lady. This is @jennakutcher, the photographer and educator and runner of @goaldiggerpodcast, and on my list of people I look up to. ⠀
When I pick the subject who I’m going to draw, I pick people I look up to, who inspire me, who make me grow as a person, and who fascinate me. Jenna is the epitome of that. Besides of her love of no pants, mac n’ cheese, her camera, and watercolor, (all things I deeply resonate with! I have the flu and I’m currently eating mac n’ cheese) she is something more. She is optimistic, generous, and resilient. I stumbled on her page two and a half years ago, and since then I’ve watched so much. She’s loved her body, and helped me love mine. She’s taught about business - and revolutionized the way I think about my business. And she’s gone through miscarriages in a public and beautiful way - showing that truly horrible loss can be dealt with grace and laughter. ⠀
Do you follow Jenna or listen to the Goal Digger Podcast? What’s your favorite thing she’s taught you? ⠀
And who do you think I should draw next? ⠀
Happy Wednesday, friends! Bartley and I are enjoying a non-hospital day today. We were there yesterday and will be back there again tomorrow, so for today we’re taking things at a slower pace and I’m soaking up a bit of creative time. 💜 Hope your day is off to a great start! xo
Hey everyone, it’s been so long since my last posting! As some of you may already know, I started teaching English at two elementary last fall. I love getting to do what I do! But trying to get the hang of things hasn’t left a whole lot of time for watercolor and calligraphy. Now that I’ve had several months to get used to things, I have more time for art! Here’s a bit of what’s new with me:
•I teach English at two elementary schools. One is near my house and the other is a one stop train ride away. •The first school has about 200 students and I teach 5th and 6th grade. I’ve known these kids since they were in 1st and 2nd grade because they were in the after school care I work at. •The other school I teach at is the third largest school in the city with around 800+ students. At this school, I teach 1st through 6th grade. •Got my very first cell phone at the age of 27! Honestly, I’ve never felt the need to have one up until recently. But now that I go to different schools, I needed to make sure the schools could get ahold of me.
Teaching has been such a rewarding new venture and I am loving every minute of it. This is a monogram I did for one of my 6th graders who will be graduating in a few months. Anemones inspired but @estherpeck’s video❤️.
