I am off of work tomorrow, and it is supposed to be 74° here, and the sun might even come out! I think a little foraging walk and maybe even a cold dip in the quarry might be in order, and I couldn’t be more excited! .
This is what the sleepy face of a milk monster looks like 💙 he has severe fomo and tries not to take naps now, it's great 🙄
Today we went hiking with the pups at keheler preserve. If you are in smallbany it's a short drive to casshill and it's a beautiful getaway in the woods. You can also mountain bike there (SO COOL!) .
We saw a big flock? Group? Tribe? 😂🤣 of Turkey's run in front of us..... It's so important to be in nature as often as you can! Breathe fresh air, get exercise, and stop running around like chickens with our heads chopped off! Let's be honest we all overbook and overstress our days. Time to take a break and slow time down a little!
Did you know that daffodils were once used by skilled herbalists as drop doses? Culpeper mentions the use of daffodils, as does King's American Dispensatory from 1898. However it seems that this beautiful ally is dangerously potent and has caused poisoning when accidentally confused with onions!
The bulbs and greens can look surprisingly similar to onions, especially with young daffodils. In our area, wild onions and wild daffodils can be found growing side by side, so it's good to be aware!
I prefer meditating on the flower meanings of daffodils ( creativity, inspiration, forgiveness) or use as a flower essence. In this way, daffodils help bring me back to clarity and optimism when faced with difficult decisions.
