Day 23 of #myhousethismonth is Fave Mug ☕️ ... now I drink SO many hot drinks you’d think I had a problem or something 😬 so it made sense to buy mugs with initials for all my friends and family 😂 Here is my one with a C - because my name is Ceri (pronounced Kerry) and it’s the welsh spelling 🐑🏴🙌🏼 I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and an even better weekend!
KITCHEN INSPIRATION | I have kitchen planners coming to visit most days next week and although I’ve been banging on about my kitchen for a while, I’ve never shared any of my inspiration.
There are some components I’d like to stick to like parquet floor ✔️ marble ✔️ brass hardware ✔️ dark fronts ✔️. My plan is for the kitchen to be designed around those elements and see where we get to. Knowing my history (I.e with my bathroom), I’ll probably change the whole thing just before it’s about to get done!! 🙈🙈
“When life gives you lemons, grab the gin & tonic”! 🍋 Here’s ‘favourite mug’ for day 23 of #myhousethismonth I can’t eat a few things either so was overjoyed to find that these biscuits are wheat free and corn free! Who’ll be grabbing a G&T tonight? Happy Friday! 🎉
Rethink your idea of what a stash is. You are probably imagining a shoebox of gilt-laden chocolate or cellophane encased baked goods shot through with preservatives. Possibly a bag full of banded bundles of cash. Maybe something more forbidden.
A stash is a physical manifestation for a private pining that must be preserved but accessible to the right set of eyes. Here, in the kitchen beside the stove: unused black truffle oil and an unopened tin box of saffron. Six pairs of with indigo blue tipped chopsticks still in the box lay in the back of the silverware drawer. A set of brand new Japanese watercolors are in the middle drawer of the sideboard bureau. Above them, an incomplete set of Art Deco highball glasses. There is not a bottle of gin in sight. In the master bedroom closet: a double knit sky blue cashmere scarf, never worn. The tags are still on it.
Unused, even the most quotidian objects time travel into the future: the life you imagine for them waits, as long as they remain in place.
