It was at this moment that I truly realized that I NEED to work on my hip mobility. At only 43.5 inches, I barely made the jump. Getting more power will be the easy part, it's the correctives that's going to be the hard part (I hate doing them). Looks like I'll be going through @kush_nicole's mobility program. Every one needs someone to keep them accountable. #power#vertical#fitness#mobility
This morning's work was somewhat of a lighter volume day but full body: 3 sets of 8-12 kettlebell swings, 2 sets of 6 depth drops (force absorption), 1 pull up + 20 second isometric hang + 50lbs, 1 chin up + 30 second hang + 50lbs, 1 pull up + 20 second hang + 60lbs, 1 chin up + 30 second hang + 60lbs....supersetted with 4 hex bar 40 yard farmers carries, 3 sets of 8 standing plate steering wheels (hold plate with arms extended and rotate weight each direction...shoulder strength and stability + core) and 2 sets of :30 battle rope slams supersetted with 2 sets of 10 plyo clap push ups. Sorry I post old videos. I haven't gotten to dunk the last few weeks. Oh yeah as well as 3 1:00 heel elevated squats for my good friend my patellar tendon. 30 seconds on the way down and 30 seconds up. Awesome feeling to get some blood and love to the tendon.
@dave_rodriguezz is the king of straight leg box jumps! 👑
Here is a 45” jump that shows off a few crucial elements of a jump. In order to carry usable speed through a take off, Dave must lag his hips and shoulders throughout the penultimate stride. Following this, a very deliberate block step to re-direct that potential energy into vertical lift. An excellent job as always by our dude Dave! 🚀🚀🚀
@ruizfran10 👀 Sometimes a Jump will captivate me for straight up, minutes on end. After watching this on repeat, I needed to share it with everyone. The decent is so controlled and seasoned. No excessive movement makes for a more advantageous landing scenario. This landing isn’t perfect by any means, but that can be difficult with shifting set trajectories. Great bounce my man! 🚀🚀🚀
Never skip a leg day. But this is why I don’t skip that upper body lift day either 💪. In transition I always try to attack off a controlled two feet take off to finish through contact. Start lifting your upper body and you will have more confidence attacking the rim. #betterbounce
