Quick, easy & tummy friendly tea after me & Meems have had a really nasty virus for the last couple of days 🤕
Stir fry is one of my favorite ways to use any random veggies I have lying around. Plus it makes for amazing leftovers that are great for school/work lunches.
This stir fry is served over @engine2diet ancient grains blend and has a homemade sauce and shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, broccoli, red bell pepper, shallot, red onion, peas, bean sprouts, and tofu. I topped it all off with some scallions and kimchi.
Berenjena rellena, ¡a reventar!
🌹¡Buen provecho!🌹 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Morning 💟🌻 Toast with peanut butter, apples, granola and cinnamon for breakfast this morning 🍎🥐 A real funny story behind these toasts... After taking the picture, my dog decided to jump on the counter and grab one piece for his own eating pleasure. He enjoyed his snack 🙄😂
Dark chocolate is life. Next to avocados of course.

Why don’t vegans buy wool?
Most people assume that wool is a cruelty-free by-product of the farming industry so lets go through the usual life cycle of a sheep bred for wool...
🔹These animals have been selectively bred to have excess skin so there's more area in which wool can grow
🔹This skin can fold up on itself and can cause some painful sores
🔹Often times because of this extra skin the sheep's skin will be nicked and cut during sheering, especially since workers are paid by weight and not hourly
🔹Nicks and cuts are obviously painful and can lead to infections
🔹During shearing these beings are pinned down - and whilst this isn't necessarily painful for them - it is terrifying as sheep are prey animals
~⚠️~ If you're thinking "...this doesn't seem too bad" reread it and ask yourself would you be okay with this happening to dogs. Let's continue... ~⚠️~
🔹Male lambs are castrated without any anaesthesia or pain relief, usually via "the rubber band method" (look it up)
🔹Lambs have their tails docked without anaesthetic or pain relief, via the use of an electric cutter (cuts and cauterises blood vessels), an emasculator (has a cutting and crushing mechanism), a burdizzo (crushes then a separate knife is used remove the tail), or a knife
🔹MULESING. The sheep (still conscious) are tied to a metal rack upside-down while chunks of both skin and flesh are torn from their rear end so that wool doesn't get mixed with fecal matter
🔹This results in open wounds and often leads to infection
🔹When the all is said and done and sheep's wool production drops they're sent of to slaughter to be served as food

The last plate of my pumpkin soup... this soup was so good that i‘m almost sad about the fact that there is no more left in the fridge!😅 And a new discovery for dessert. It‘s a coconut yogurt with a mango/passion fruit puree😍

Hey guys! ☺️ I was a bit busy the last days but finally 🎉 I was able to make some great food again 😍 Seitan Tikka Masala!
And of course it’s 100% vegan 😀
I only used soy yogurt, unsw. almond milk, an onion & masala paste - so good & really rich in proteins 💪🏽 As side dish I made some basmati rice with caraway & peas 😁
I love Indian food, what about you? ♥️ .

Made some pad Thai-inspired stir-fried noodles. I used some rice noodles because I love the chewy and sticky texture it has especially if cooked right. I’m sorry I didn’t measure the ingredients for the sauce (I will next time!) but for those wondering, the sauce was a mix of some chili sauce, coconut sugar, soy sauce, a little vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic.
For the other ingredients, I just sautéed veggies I had on hand—purple cabbage, leeks, bell peppers, carrots, bean sprouts, and some tofu in a little oil before adding in a bit of the sauce and the cooked noodles. I added more sauce and sesame oil then stir-fried everything for a few more minutes. Finished it off with some fresh lime and lots of sesame seeds. 🌿🍜 •
