Vikings, according to Clare Downham in Viking Kings of Britain in Ireland, are "people of Scandinavian culture who were active outside Scandinavia... Danes, Norwegians, Swedes, Hiberno-Scandinavians, Anglo-Scandinavians, or the inhabitants of any Scandinavian colony who affiliated themselves more strongly with the culture of the coloniser than with that of the indigenous population."
TYR)) #respect#bestservice#tyr#ironstar

Fenrir is a mythical creature of Scandinavian mythology. It is in the form of a giant wolf and a thirst for revenge equal to that of a god who has suffered much. According to the prophecy, it will cause the fall of the old world, which will be the end of most gods. This is why the gods fear so much. They can not and will not let him move freely, so they bring him to Asgard.
Fenrir grows constantly, acts totally unpredictably, attacks friends and foes. So the gods decide to chain him.
But the two heavy chains that have been built specifically for him, are snapped off by Fenrir without any effort. He escapes from Asgard, scattering panic and fear among gods and mortals!
It is then that the gods remembered the magic Gladier shackles, which may seem harmless but can not be destroyed. They bet with Fenrir that they will not be able to break the magical bonds. Although he does not feel comfortable, he accepts the challenge. But it requires one of the gods to put his right hand in his mouth.
It is Tyr, the God of War, who finally agrees. The gods then tie the giant wolf with the shackles, tightening more and more.
And indeed, Fenrir can not be released and thus bites and cuts Tyr's hand. Tyr endures with temper, knowing that, for now, he saved the World of Gods.
However, according to the prophecy, Fenrir will be able to free himself in Ragnarok ("The Squadron of the Gods") who will devour Odin!
33. From the branch which seemed
so slender and fair Came a harmful shaft
that Hoth should hurl; But the brother of Baldr
was born ere long, And one night old fought Othin's son.
34. His hands he washed not, his hair he combed not,
Till he bore to the bale-blaze Baldr's foe. But in Fensalir
did Frigg weep sore For Valhall's need: would you know yet more?
35. One did I see in the wet woods bound, A lover of ill,
and to Loki like; By his side does Sigyn sit, nor is glad
To see her mate: would you know yet more?
36. From the east there pours through poisoned vales
With swords and daggers the river Slith.
Sif is the golden-haired Norse goddess of wheat and prosperity. She is also the wife of the thunder-god Thor, and the mother to their daughter, Þrúðr. She has a son, Ullr, from her previous relationship, which is relatively obscure. Not much is known about Sif, save that she was very vain until her hair was shorn by Loki as a practical joke. Her hair was restored to her by the two dwarf sons of Ivaldi when Loki goaded them into a bet against the dwarfs Brokk and Eitri.
