As you may have seen in my stories, we got carpet in our spare beds yesterday. That required a full unload of my art room, which although TERRIBLY overwhelming, has led to me digging through my old sketchbooks. I spent 9 months of 2012 and 2013 in France studying architecture and design. It was the most incredible experience and it’s been a special night skimming through these pages. I was taught to see architecture through a different lens, challenged to capture what I saw through sketches rather than photography, and was taught things about the world just by sitting down with a pencil and paper in countries I didn’t fully understand. Although I’m nostalgic, I’m particularly grateful to have my memories bound up in these books for me to reminisce upon. I also would have this growing business without the discovery of this creative side of me. I hope everyone has a chance to do something crazy and challenging because it’s so, so worth it.
Last November we were lucky enough to take a group to Cuba during the Havana Marathon, with the option of joining the race! Amongst our guests was Ironman World Champion — and Classic Journeys guest — Kathleen McCartney. We recently caught up with Kathleen to talk about her experience.
