On perspective: I better look faster!! A recent build week had me feeling utterly worthless, exhausted and like I wasn’t making any progress so I went back and looked at some stats. Turns out, between March 1 and today, I rode 2407 miles and ran 706 (and those are just the logged miles!). But with 453 bike and 202 run miles in the last 47 days alone, it’s no wonder I was fatigued. But knowing all of this shifts my perspective on it - I may not FEEL like I’m making progress but the results don’t lie. I can be comfortable in the knowledge that I’m working toward a goal and if I show up every day and do it the way it’s planned and intended to be done - like a badass - the results, and the feeling, will come with it. Thank goodness for recovery weeks but the build continues 👍🏼! At this rate, for Duathlon Nationals this year, I’ll come into the race at 190% of last year’s fitness level for the same race. So if I look faster already...maybe this is why 😳. It’s good to check your perspective: how am I perceiving this? Why am I perceiving things this way? What is the context for my perception? Go bigger and go smaller - the context is decisive and identifying your context will give you everything you need to know to change how you’re looking at, and feeling about, anything that you’re finding challenging or wanting to give up on at the moment. Stay strong and keep #running, friends. •
A short but high-intensity power endurance session yesterday evening. Psyched for the final bash this weekend! I've once again moved back into intermittent fasting and have immediately noticed gains of feeling lighter on the wall with more timely energy. It's so important to stay in-tune with what works for your body when training. #climb#climbinglife#trainhard#gymrat
I’m not one of those leaders that sit behind my desk...I’m striving everyday to be better and ready when my name is called. You can’t lead, mentor or inspire anyone sitting on your ass. Challenge to all of the senior leaders out there get more active. I don’t come to work to please higher...it is all about my Marines at the end of the day!
