This week’s Thankful Thursday honors Germantown, Tennessee, community member Joanna Young. Joanna is doing amazing things to foster trust and safety in her community and many others through her nonprofit Cop Stop. Cop Stop began when Joanna Young invited officer’s in her neighborhood into her home for Friday night dinner. This one dinner turned into a bi-monthly event and community members and officers alike began to look-forward to getting to know each other through this shared meal. Cop Stop spread throughout Tennessee and now Cop Stop’s exist in seven states and the idea continues to grow.
Cop Stop’s provide a place for civilians and law enforcement personnel to come together as human beings and community members. They are a place of inclusivity, openness, and gratitude and foster trust and understanding. Thank you Joanna Young and everyone involved in Cop Stop for your hard work. Day 3 of homeschooling.
We visited the Bohart Museum of Entomology - how did I never know this existed?!? This was Luke’s paradise!
He explored, photographed and read all sorts of new and interesting facts. The highlight being a long talk with a professor who answered his endless questions, showed him how scorpions glow, an up close look and study if a centipede, and way more facts than this bug-avoiding momma could retain! 🐜🐛🦋🦗🕷
So far I’m seeing Luke shine in a whole new way. I was terrified of a whole lot of things about homeschooling but all I’m seeing is more joy, contentment, less frustration and man, the questions and ideas this kid comes up with is way impressive! #thrive
Kids think so much bigger than we tend to give them credit for. Give them a limitless learning environment and it’s amazing where they take their creativity and learning!!

🙋🏼🏃🏼♀️Girls read : This salad does not make me fullfilled.. For me this is just a starter. I eat quiet a lot. I have a lot of energy currently and my body functions very well. My metabolism is super and as much as i love a high fat diet - lately, for the past months i have been experiencing with more carbs. I dont believe theres one right answer out there how to eat. I believe in listening to your gut feeling and eat foods you digest well and feel good from eating. Your body needs may change from time to time. If you have had a period with a lot of stress, bad sleep or been very busy sometimes adding a little more carb to your diet can actually do you good (good quality carbs) Especially for girls, a low carb diet may be hard on your hormone health📖👀. Also some girls are afraid of carbs and fat! ‼️Thats called "rabbit starvation" Only high protein foods and veggies.. ⚠️protein is not supposed to be used as fuel but as building block. 💪For building up your body. I observe a lot of strange diets going on out there and many girls complain of not feeling satisfied or constantly go thinking about Food. They read on the internet long lists of foods to avoid.. and they are stuck with .. chicken filets and broccoli 😏.. my best advice is to stop soaking in everything you read on the internet and start to listen more to your own body needs. 🙏Also please consult with a certisfied Nutritionist, insead of following a fixed diet your friend at the gym is doing. 🙀I believe its important to always have a one2one private consultaion and adapt the foodintake to the individual☝🏻. We all live different lives, face different challenges, have a different health profile, goals and needs .
I take myself as example: when my gut was none working and i was dealing with lyme, a high fat low carb diet litererally saved me and my gut! Now this is healed (with a protocol) i dont have food intolerances or a irritable sensitive stomach, and my body crave a different macro ratio. .

Very excited to reveal that...the weekly blogs are back!! And will now be on my main Thrive site! This week I'm kicking off with New Year's Resolutions - we're all bored of hearing about them, but my question isn't WHAT your resolutions are, but WHY you chose them, and HOW you can reframe your thinking to be as successful as possible in achieving them. It's mid-January so if they're not working for you, don't be afraid to re-evaluate and change things up a bit - I've included 5 key tips to help you do this. So have a read, and as ever would love to hear any thoughts - post a comment below or drop me a message!
Hummus Platter by @my_veggie_kitchn 💛⠀
For a small batch of hummus (double if you want to make for more people)⠀
1 can chickpeas (around 240g) drained, rinsed⠀
1 clove garlic⠀
Juice of half a lemon⠀
2 tsp tahini⠀
2 tbs olive oil⠀
a splash of water (around 20ml)⠀
salt and pepper to taste⠀
Just blend everything together in a food processor until smooth. ⠀
If not smooth enough add more water or olive oil.⠀
When serving, sprinkle some paprika, pepper and olive oil on top. Enjoy! #letscookvegan

(Makes 2 small servings or 1 large serving. Time: 10 minutes)⠀
Cajá bottom layer⠀
100 g Cajá⠀
1 tsp agave syrup⠀
1 tbsp water⠀
Strawberry middle layer⠀
5 frozen strawberry⠀
50 g Graviola⠀
Graviola top layer⠀
50 g Graviola⠀
Use a blender to blend the ingredients for each layers. Use your favorite granola and fruits to top of your sunrise cup and enjoy!⠀

Channa dal with kale topped with roasted potatoes by @rebelrecipes 💛Recipe⠀
2 cups channa dal - washed ⠀
6 cups water ⠀
1 tsp turmeric ⠀
1 tsp sea salt ⠀
2 tbsp coconut oil ⠀
1 large onion - roughly chopped ⠀
1/4 tsp asafoetida ⠀
2 tsp mustard seeds ⠀
2 tsp cumin seeds ⠀
1 tsp ground coriander ⠀
1 tsp chilli flakes ⠀
4 cloves garlic ⠀
1 knob ginger - grated ⠀
3 tomatoes chopped ⠀
3 handfuls kale ⠀
Black pepper ⠀
Wash the channa dal thoroughly. ⠀
Add the chana dal to a saucepan with 6 cups of water. Bring to the boil and skim off the froth. Add in the turmeric. ⠀
Turn down to a low heat and let it simmer for 1 1/4 hrs then add in the salt. ⠀
Add the coconut oil to a large frying pan and heat to a medium heat. Add in the asafoetida and mustard seeds. When they start to pop add in the cumin seeds and chilli flakes. Stir for a few seconds then add in the onion. Fry for aprox 8-10 minutes until soft and browning. ⠀
Add in the garlic and ginger and stir for another few minutes, then add in the chopped tomatoes. ⠀
Cook for a further 5-6 minutes then add the kale and 120ml of water. Simmer for 5 minutes. ⠀
When the dal is cooked, add the kale & tomato mix to the dal and stir well. ⠀
Season with salt, pepper & garam masala to finish. ⠀
Roast potato ingredients ⠀
500g Organic new potatoes⠀
1 tbsp olive oil⠀
1 tsp garlic powder⠀
Sea salt – 1/2 tsp⠀
1/2 tsp cumin seeds ⠀
Twist black pepper ⠀
Pre heat your oven to gas mark 5 (190c).⠀
Add the potatoes to a roasting tray (I cut some of the larger ones in half) then toss coat them on olive oil, garlic powder, salt and cumin. Roast for aprox 40 minutes until crispy on the outside.
