“Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.” 🌊

It’s World Whale Day! Did you know that over 300,000 whales and dolphins are killed every single year just as a by-product of industrial fishing (@seashepherd)? Fortunately, commercial whaling was banned in 1986, however, illegal whaling, dying seas, pollution, oil/gas development, ship strikes, etc., all have had major impacts on the populations of these magnificent creatures. Not only is the ocean their home, it’s OUR life source, too.
Inform yourself, get involved, and make small changes in your life to protect our oceans. 💙🐋
Always praying for fresh powder. - The mountains are always better with a fresh coat of snow. The shear cliff sides of Hyalite complimented by a sea of frosty pines below. Untarnished winter beauty on an early morning out. Always stoked to get out on the weekends to beautiful views like these!
i asked my great pal Holly B why she believes in God. since i first met her [like a year and a half ago] she’s always had this weird/good crush on a guy named Jesus, but i never asked her why. so i got my answer, and all i can say is she’s totally right in so many different ways. we need to be saved! and we need more joyful spirits like Holly !!!

My mind has been racing as of late. Keeping me up at night with thoughts of work and where I will be in a few weeks/months. I work for an organization that is growing, and growing fast. Now don’t get me wrong, my outlook is optimistic but I can’t help but play out all the scenarios in my head. My last leader said “with change comes opportunity”. Well, I am completely surrounded by change at the moment. If/when an opportunity arises I want to be ready for it. Some might call that luck. 😂
Sir Richard Branson said “If someone offers you an amazing opportunity, and you’re not sure you can do it - say yes, then learn how to do it later”. I’d be lying if I said I’ve never done that before.
All that being said, I have decided to make a conscious effort to concentrate on the following principles in preparation for that next opportunity.
1. Never stop learning
2. Work/life balance
3. Continue building strong relationships/networks

#firefall 2017. Without a doubt, one of the most memorable experiences I’ve endured as a photog. The sound of a hundred freezing photographers rejoicing for a miracle we thought wouldn’t even occur was definitely one for the books. Maybe if it actually rains for more than 15min here in CA, we’ll get another shot of this spectacle.
