"This most of all: ask yourself in the most silent hour of your night: must I [create]? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple 'I must,' then build your life in accordance with this necessity; your whole life, even into its humblest and most indifferent hour, must become a sign and witness to this impulse." -Rainer Maria Rilke
IN THE CLOUDS // last week was a complete blur, with a lot going on in every aspect. Thank goodness for the fresh start that is Monday! // 🖼: work in progress, continued exploration of the abstracted skyscape, acrylic and aquarelle pencil on paper, 29 x 41 inches
This little lady will always be my great masterpiece. 💝 She is why I do all that I do. Because if you were to ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she will say “a vet and an artist, because after all I can do all” 💕 And you want to be careful because if you ask her about me she will probably tell you I am famous because I was on tv - once! 😂(thank you @lowcountrylive ❤️)
Back in the summer Ben Calhoun (@iambencalhoun) did a wonderful photo shoot in my studio for a web article with @unionadorn and @theuncommonunion. Oh, sun, please come back, that was such a bright and lovely day! Thought I would share some of the outtakes here. They remind me to stay in motion when I have been at the computer all week. I work as a calligrapher and mixed media artist. This gives a glimpse of my process, including the never-before-so-tidy office where I scan and assemble to make my prints.

So so excited to share for the first time ever what a complete painting looks like beneath the white veil. It’s up on my journal- link in bio. Go take a peek and see her before she’s pushed pack into the void!😱🤗
“Like Purity Against Resolve,” inspired by the bewildering fortitude of water as it carves canyons into the earth, feeds our souls, and gives life wherever it flows.

Here is a new series I started this week.
It’s about flowers.
Simple in their form but nonetheless lovely.
As you can notice they are imperfect.
The petals are uneven as is the bud.
They depict the idea that we carry within us both flaws and strengths.
We are, as humans, imperfect.
Even so I think we are beautiful.
We must remind ourselves often of this beauty we bear as we should remind others around us.
This can overbalance, or at least level, the « beauty & performance standards » that are omnipresent in our societies.
Good evening friends ✨🖤🌛✨
*The longer piece of wood will be cut in smaller pieces to make other tiny flowers:)

Just sitting here digging through old photos and I ran into this one. Making a little video with some of my favorites over @holysmokesproductions. Sometimes I forget that my work used to be so so different ❤️

The harder you look, the more you see and are equally unable to see.

When I got Castiel, I was confident that Chauncy’s good manners would rub off on him. As it turns out, they really haven’t, and he is brazen and brash like you would imagine a five month old kitten to be. Thankfully, he’s also the cutest and sweetest. 🤷🏻♀️ #WHPpetproject
