Check out the @surfandsupschool in Dubai. The kids have great fun learning how to surf at the same time as they become confident swimmers and learn about the waves and the sea in general. The instructors are amazing with kids and also truly passionate about protecting our seas . Get your kids in the water! 😉🏄👍 @carlitoff79#seacarers#surfhousedubai#surfkids
Where do we begin...
We’re suitably stoked to officially announce the start of the waiting period for the Corona Sunset Open 2018 at Nikki Beach Resort and Spa Dubai. From 23rd Feb to 31st March we will be waiting for the best Friday and Saturday of surf to hold the two day event, making the call 3 days in advance.
A lot has changed in Dubai since the last Sunset Open in 2015, including the (accidental) creation of Dubai's best surf spot through the development of Nikki Beach Resort and Spa Dubai on the Pearl Jumeirah. We can't wait to give Dubai’s surf community the opportunity to showcase the quality of waves and surfing on offer here in the U.A.E. Keep your eyes peeled for updates in the coming week regarding registration and more details on what's in store for this year's event.
See you in the water...
What do surfers and Sea Shepherd have in common? The answer of course is a huge respect and appreciation of the marine environment. That is why we are super excited to announce that @singlefindubai at @surfhousedubai are now stocking Sea Shepherd KeepCups ... It is extremely exciting to see retailers wanting to move away from single-use plastics and to help consumers make sustainable choices!
If you drink two take-away coffees a day and don't own a Keep Cup, you're binning over 700 paper cups and lids a year. Now add up the years!
Make sure you pop in to see the team at Single Fin Cafe and do your bit to reduce single use plastic, while also supporting the marine environment. #noexcuseforsingleuse#marinedebrisprevention#salutethereuser#marineconservation#defend#conserve#protect#uae#dubai#surfhousedubai

You may or may not know we have an extensive weekly yoga program held here at Surf House Dubai. Meet @danielle_tierney_heron, who runs her 'Alignment Yoga' class from 18:00-19:15 every Wednesday. Dani's class is perfect for all types of active people who always say to themselves they should look after their muscles after exercise, but never do!
Having previously practised as a health professional, Dani has an extensive knowledge of anatomy and has developed an appreciation for the variations in human bodies and their alignment. With a fit and active lifestyle, Danielle’s yoga journey began 7 years ago seeking muscle recovery and injury prevention. Sign up for Dani's course via our Mind & Body booking form on surfingdubai.com or pop in to see us.
Messy head high conditions - what’s the best board for today?
We recommend the EPS 50/50 Chilli Rare Bird (this ones a 5’8”). Light epoxy and plenty of width for extra paddling and speed. Try some FCS II Performance Quad fins to project down the line and beat those sections. A FCS tool to swap fins quick. A Creatures 6ft Comp leash will keep you light but still secure. Wax up with Farking Warm Wax & add a Mitch Colborn Creatures deck grip to help you push hard through turns. And don’t forget the SunBum Zinc - just because it’s cloudy doesn’t mean there’s no UV about. When you leave the beach throw on the Creatures board sock to avoid those scratches and dents. All available at Surf House Dubai.
