Embarking on a new adventure - SUP or stand-up paddle board yoga! I’ve loved the practice and have been thinking about it for a while now, and the stars finally aligned for me to officially take a training and become a certified SUP yoga teacher. I’ve been having the best time, practicing in the most beautiful places, connecting with amazing women, and enjoying receiving for the first time in a long time. It’s part of my self care routine, and a determination to take at least one empowering and educational training each year. Costa Rica has of course lent her magic to make this an unforgettable experience. Off to new waters...
Playing with water, wet.🌊 Playing with fire, burned. 🔥Indonesian proverb.
Being a both yogi and firefighter this proverb has some interesting meanings for my life. I have tried to learn to be strong and embrace the fire/power side of me and temper that with the elegance and flow of water in my life. A juxtaposition that continues to exist whenever I introduce myself as a firefighter yogi...that’s a interesting combo, how can you do both? Well that’s part of the whole journey I’m learning to discover...be strong when you need to be and soft when you don’t want to be.... #firefighteryogi#yogi#supyogi#headstand#sirsasana#supyoga#paddleboardyoga#paddleboard#paddleboardyogi#oceantherapy#h2om
✨💙🏝 ”We haven’t located us yet.” If your feeling lost and don’t know if you can find where you are at times, you are not alone.
Feeling like we’re floating up in the air and then we recognize this disconnect from the self, and reign ourselves in. Like an astronaut winding the cable with air supply tethered to a spaceship. We recognize what it is that brings us back to our true north and practice what is necessary to reel in and regain flow. Creativity, Love, religion, nature, connection.
I have days that I get so focused on my profession of being present for others, staying organized, and practicing compassion that I forget to stay present with my own breath. We are imperfect and vulnerable, it’s okay to wake up some days and feel unworthy of all of the wonderful things in our life. It’s the human experience, but gratitude and flow can ground us. Mindfulness is an ongoing experience of presence that we will forever be practicing and re-negotiating.
Just like a true friend it’s there for you full of love when your ready to acknowledge it. I’m looking forward to getting upside down more this weekend and guiding the spirit to it’s true north🙃 🔻
Class this Saturday morning from 9:30-11:30. Find @seadogyoga on the mind body online app or shoot me a message if your feeling froggy🐸 🔻
I love watching people succeed! Whether it’s getting their perfect job or a raise, someone getting recognition for something they kick butt at, or even just seeing my students try SUP yoga for the first time or doing that one pose on the board that they’ve always wanted to do. Remember that when someone succeeds it doesn’t mean that you are failing. If you surround yourself with badass people and build them up, I promise you they will return the favor! Your community is a reflection of yourself so make sure you’re surrounding yourself with only the best!
This is also a shoutout to my girl @ldyduncyoga. I am so so so proud of you and am so excited to watch this amazing journey you’re about to go on with Athleta! No one deserves in more than you 😊❤️.
Our SUP yoga band is touring all over the country in 2018...keep a look out to see when we’re coming to a town near you! 😂😂😂
All jokes aside, I love this group of ladies! They have been coming two years in a row and choose to get their butts kicked with a SUP Fitness class!
You guys requested it and we heard you! This summer there will be a permanent SUP Fitness class on the schedule!
My #1 favorite 2018 goal I’ve heard is from all my students who have never done SUP yoga say that their goal is to get out on the water this summer!
Did you guys set some killer goals? Hopefully ones that make you happy, healthy, and tan!
Only 120 days till paddle board season!
Self Care Sunday.... Hot Yoga, Paddle Boarding, Family Beach Time, and an evening of cuddles and movies. Days like today recharge my soul!! .
I don’t ever dread Monday’s because I’m fortunate to love what I do, but days like today I wish I could freeze in time.

Alive.! I woke up just to watch the sunrise. That hasn’t happened since I was last in Kauai. 💠
It’s magnificent to pause and pay homage to the sun and honor all it does to enlighten my life. It’s warm rays bring growth and life and the sun habitually rises daily, and expects nothing in return. That is unconditional love. 💠
We only get one go at life, and our time is limited. It is said when we meditate daily we prepare for our ultimate death. Not to be a downer, but what could be more freeing that to have acceptance that we will one day be gone and to live each day to the fullest. To live our lives with unconditional love.
What would you do if you knew your time was limited? Go on a road trip, volunteer, buy a friend lunch, be more outspoken, watch the sunrise, spend more time with friends and family?
