Come visit Mono Lake, located on Highway 395, 13 miles east of Yosemite National Park, near the town of Lee Vining, California.
One of the oldest lakes in the western hemisphere, Mono Lake is hauntingly beautiful, reflecting the snow-capped Sierra Nevada in its shimmering blue waters.
“I don't think we spend enough time in silence, just realizing what's floating around in our noggin.” -Sandra Bullock
Exploring this world has by far been a joy for me. Seeing so many unique things from Mother Nature makes me feel happy. Truly happy. No matter what’s on my mind or what I’m going through a natural scene sets me at ease. I’ll keep this post short because in the spirit of exploring this world I’ll shut off my phone once I’m done typing. Enjoy the world. Disconnect for a while and really soak it all in. Because that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend. 😁
It’s tough to brave the pre-dawn temperatures at #SouthTufa in winter, but it's always worth it. A still #MonoLake, snow-dusted tufa towers, and ribbons of #poconip fog set against the steep rise of the #SierraNevada make for breathtaking views. // Photo by Chris Decker.

|| Photo from @neverbyllama || It’s not much of a hike, but wow, Mono Lake sure is gorgeous. The limestone tufas that jettison out of the water are a surreal sight unlike anything else. It’s a perfect place for serious landscape photography, or a relaxing sunset stroll after a day in the mountains (text from calitrails.com) || Image selected by @ericmuhr || Join us in exploring California, wherever you are, and tag your finds to #Caliexplored || #MonoLake#SouthTufa#California ||

Mono Lake is definitely worth a quick stop if you're in that neck of the woods. The South Tufa is strange and beautiful and easily accessible. #iwasbornwild 📷: @daytripsla
