As we revisit producers and farms year after year and see the impact that direct trade relationships have on a community, it makes us proud to be involved in the process.

ORANGE YOU GLAD I’M SO PUNNY | Good morning from my breakfast table to yours! I’m feasting on blood oranges and cara cara oranges from my farmer friends this morning, which I am very enthused about. I was always so excited to find blood oranges as a kid. Kind of like pomegranates, there is something so magically primal about having the bright red juice run all over your hands. I also made coffee for the first time in weeks (Matt usually makes it because he’s better at it than me) and it turns out I’m very rusty, but it turned out ok in the end. I’ve actually been having fun venturing from my usual @hariov60 to the baby @the_chemex. Yay for variety! And of course, I have a jar of homemade nut/seed milk (if you want the recipe, check out my story highlights)!! Have a good morning and a beautiful day friends!! No hay mejor ocasión que catar hoy esta tableta de cacao venezolano, Finca Torres, medalla de plata por la @acadofchocolate en 2011. Está hecha por una firma suiza. Hacienda Torres es una plantación junto al parque nacional que tomó el nombre del biólogo suizo Henry Pittier. Su propietario aprovecha el excelente clima y terreno para cultivar un cacao especial. Sin duda influirá el entorno cercano al pueblo colonial de Choroni y los bosques nubosos de la zona.
El chocolate tiene un aroma increíble al abrir el envoltorio. Intenso olor frutal y a café. En boca surgen notas de café y flor de azahar, canela pasas dulces (leo también la descripción de la tableta). Largo y delicioso posgusto. Me encanta. Comprado a través de @clubdelchocolate [EN] Chocolate from Swiss brand #IdilioOrigins made with 72% cacao from Choroni, Venezuela. Finca Torres won a silver award from the @acadofchocolate in 2011. The plantation that grows this cacao is located near the colonial village of Choroni, beneath the cloud forests of the national park named after Swiss biologist Henry Pittier. Hacienda Torres is owned by Vicente Fuentes.
Aroma of strong coffee and plums that complement the strong coffee flavour. Orange blossom, cinnamon and light sweet raisin add to the aftertaste. Nice long one. Love this bar. Glad I had it today.

One of our greatest joys is teaching someone new to matcha how to make it. It’s a beautiful tradition that has been passed down for over a thousand years and has truly profound ceremonies surrounding it. It’s so rewarding to see someone’s face light up when they realize how simple it can be to make at home. Because we can’t teach everybody in person (sadly) we made this real time video to show you how quick a cup of mindful matcha is to prepare.
