Wow the conditions yesterday were full on! Farndale seemed like the epicentre, although I’m sure there were even more hard hit places. After having driven up and down some steep gradients, a gentle slope of all things eventually brought my demise as I had to abandon my car. I chocked each wheel with a stone from the neighbouring wall and packed them hard with snow to stop it going anywhere. Then I set about walking back to civilisation where I could phone for a lift. After about an hour, a local came past in his 4x4 and offered me a lift. By pure chance he was heading to Helmsley so I got a lift all the way home! Had to head back out today to dig my car out though..
