Feeling lucky to have swam with the fastest sharks in the world!! The makos were so so incredibly quick, I had to slow the footage. A very humbling experience. Marking them off the list. 4 species down, 436 left to see🖤🦈Sharks are the decadent combination of grace and power. The ocean is a beauty we visit often, but sharks have called her their HOME for more than 400 million years. Generally they are demonized for their most basic instincts; instead, let's encourage each other to learn more. By becoming more knowledgeable about what may solely seem terrifying, we can cultivate a greater understanding. Being prepared and acknowledging their importance for the ecosystem is the a healthy respect all beings, especially these apex predators, deserve. If we can open our minds, we can do powerful things. If we can open our hearts, we become unstoppable.
Another night, another sketch.
These beautiful creatures are critically endangered and could soon become extinct due to loss of habitat and poor fishing regulation. Places like @marinelandfl help promote rehabilitation of injured turtles and education for the cause. #sharetheocean
The next maker I reached out to for this giveaway is my buddy Tim @woodward_builds. I found Tim on IG and started watching him crushing it in the shop. He was so inspiring, and I quickly noticed that in most of his posts, he was wearing a Tractor Supply Company ball cap (I wear one in the shop myself). I remember commenting on a post of his about it and thinking to myself, "he's gonna think I'm some weirdo talking about his hat" 🤣.
In the short few months we've been IG friends, Tim hasn't stopped crushing it in the shop, and I've learned we have more in common in our lives than we knew.
Tim has taught me how kind, giving, and encouraging this community can be. Not only is he extremely talented, he is always full of positivity, and always willing to help answer questions, or make recommendations when asked. He was the first maker to surprise me with a gift for no reason (a new tactical TSC hat), annnnd I'm pretty sure he can do a damn good impression of Oprah Winfrey giving stuff away🤔. #proveit
Tim is one of my greatest cheerleaders, and has seen something in me (that I couldn't see in myself) from the beginning of our interaction.
You're an awesome maker Tim and so good for the woodworking community - it's been amazing to watch you grow. So, as I tip my TSC ball cap brim your way, I wanna say thank you Tim....thank you, well, for just being you.
(I hope you can even read this with your foam finger in the way!!)
🦈🌊🐠⚓️🐋🌎🐬 Free diving in the middle of the ocean with sharks was something I never thought I'de ever do. By far one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life. These endangered demonized species are hunted for their fins (only) and tossed back into the ocean to suffer and die helplessly. Over 20,000 sharks are killed everyday along with sea turtles, whales, and dolphins etc. by pollution, toxic human waste and overfishing. Follow @OneOceanDiving to support the research, education, and conservation of these amazing creatures. #StoptheGreed#SharetheOcean#Coexist#OneOcean#SavetheSharks#SavetheOcean#RespectOurPlanet#OneLove

Every night is like a watercolor painting💛And...you guys! We saw whales while eating supper tonight!🐋🐋First, it was just a tail. Then, a spray of water. Then...it went straight up out of the water and landed with a huge splash. So amazing! Everyone around us was cheering and so excited to witness it.🙏🏻Crazy to think we can play in the same ocean as these beauties. #sharetheocean#miracles#creation#nofilter
So I was sad, sick and stuck at my cold apartment room back in the city. I am sure it was a #beautiful cold day but I could not even get up.
Meanwhile, I was talking to this #friend, who lives in #California, about how bad I was feeling. Out of the sudden, he asked me what I needed or wanted in order to get better, so I said the #ocean.
I have always liked it, i have been always amazed by it. So full of soooo many living and non-living things yet so #simple. So #majestic, so deep, so #colourful, so #GracefullyPerfect, constantly changing, singing to the rest of the universe... the ocean would be the only thing could be helping.
Suddenly, I received a message with this photo and the sound of the ocean recorded minutes earlier.
I didn't know one could #ShareTheOcean when needed.
