Facing up to things, working through them, that’s what makes you strong.” ~ Sarah Dessen "I am a sleep-is-for-the-wicked, work-your-fingers-to-the-bone type of girl.
What this workaholic mindset has been good for has been learning to fight the good fight to feel the humbled pride of feeling like the work I’m doing in this world is impactful.
I conditioned myself to jump head on into my livelihood because I wanted better. After failing out of medical school prerequisites in an extra fifth year of college, feeling sorry for myself, and settling for two different customer service jobs that made me feel underutilized, I daydreamed of being in a job where I felt like I mattered, and through feeling important, could help others see their own value and right of belonging in the world." ~ Caitlin Oriel @caitlinoriel 🙏 Click the link in bio to read the rest of "Whoever said Moving On was Easy is a Liar."

Well Christmas came early for a special family in Tomball today!!😍 .
Several months ago, I brainstormed and created a course that would bring people together in the love of Bhakti yoga. Our group is wide ranging, with different backgrounds and levels of yoga experience. But the one thing we all have in common is B I G hearts!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Each month we explore a different deity. This month is Hanuman, Sita and Rama. Hanuman is the perfect example of what it means to serve with your whole heart. Giving of himself, unselfishly, loyal, to the very end. And this group of amazingly sweet people did just that today. .
We’ve collected toys, clothes, and food for a local family for a couple of weeks, and today we delivered them. To see the sheer excitement on the kids’ faces today was nothing short of a Christmas miracle!✨We brought them joy and happiness. And in return, they filled our hearts with love. This is what giving back feels like, heart filled joy. 💖
To my Soulful Sundays peeps....y’all are fabulous souls and I love each of you!!!!🙌🏻🙏🏻✨❤️💚🎅🏼🌟💥 .
It's good to hear from others the kind and supporting words about what you have accomplished no matter how small.
In fact, small wins are also an important part of the process, and if you keep having those small wins will lead to you celebrating something magnificent.
Nonetheless, it's good to hear from others the encouragement about your progress, but you'll have to be even more excited about your own accomplishments.
Remember, it's important that you are proud of yourself for the hard work that you have been putting in.
When you celebrate your victories big or small, it is prodigious a way of keeping yourself motivated and inspired. It takes motivation and inspiration to go all the way.
Besides, the process always comes before the completion and as you celebrate your victory get those who support you yo celebrate with you.
TO KEEP THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE.
"When was the last time you did something for the first time?
It seems such a light-hearted question, but there is a nugget of hidden wisdom.
When I think of the times that I felt most happy, those were usually times in which I was doing and experiencing a lot of things for the first time.
Around 2010, I had been living a nice and quiet life for a few years, just going about the same routines. I wasn’t depressed, but I wasn’t utterly happy either. Looking back now, I’d say I wasn’t thriving, not living up to my full potential. I wasn’t feeling fully alive.
Some days a passing tourist would tell me something I had never before heard or thought about, and all of a sudden I would feel deeply inspired. My imagination would launch into a stream of new plans, dreams, and projects I could start. I’d feel light and alive.
One of those days sparked the dream of my own yoga and massage studio." Click the link in bio to read the rest of "When was the Last Time you did something for the First Time?" by Leontien Reedijk @thekarmashack 📷 @hotasanacos
"I’ve worked in the corporate world now for my entire adult life—over 20 years and counting.
But it wasn’t until I started down my spiritual path that something became clear to me: the corporate environment, with its often frantic pace, calculating strategy, and drive to move forward at all costs was at odds with my innate, sensitive nature to be thoughtful, observant, and consider the feelings, desires, and underlying motivations of all people.
In short, I’m energetically sensitive and the corporate world can be pretty harsh for people like me.
And I know I’m not alone.
One of the greatest struggles for us sensitive types is that we feel everything. It’s not just that we pick up on someone else’s true feelings, which can be a cool gift sometimes—don’t lie to us, because we’ll know! The real challenge is that we often feel everyone’s energies all at once, which can be overwhelming to say the least.
We can usually mitigate this by avoiding crowds or places where we know the energy is difficult for us. But then there’s the issue of work.
Obviously, work is necessary in order to eat, pay bills, and meet our basic needs. For the lucky ones among us, we figure out early on how to make a living in an environment that’s friendly to sensitive people, which often means alone, or with a small number of people whose energy we know and trust. For so many of us, however, we don’t figure out this sensitive blessing/curse for many years, and by the time we do, we’re already trying to fit into the mold of the modern workplace. This is where many of us struggle and ultimately start to question ourselves.
You see, it’s enough of a challenge to pick up on everyone’s energy all the time. In the workplace, this is amplified to ever greater proportions because we can’t escape if it gets overwhelming..." read more, "How Sensitive People can Survive in a Cold, Hard Corporate World," via Ashley Barnes on elephantjournal.com or click the link in our bio ☝🐘🙏
You're not alone. ❤️ "We know what escaping from discomfort means: either I anesthetize it, or try to distract myself from it, or eliminate its source. Suicide is the final option.
Escaping into discomfort may seem like a strange idea, but most people have had a taste of it in their lifetime.
Once or twice, everyone has had a situation that was physically, mentally, or emotionally uncomfortable—or all of the above—and they just stopped fighting it. Instead, they opened to it, embraced the sensory effects, and still felt pain or discomfort…but it was no longer a problem. You can so fully experience discomfort that you escape into it.
The idea that you can experience pain or discomfort without suffering is deep and important, because it gives you an option whenever you can’t change circumstances, and you don’t want to just numb or drug yourself, or turn away from the circumstances.
In a sense, you experience suffering with greater poignancy, but less problematically—that is, it hurts more but bothers less."
