Get outta here with your $70 "hex jar magnetic spice racks" (thats jealousy talking). These little guys are those baby Bonne Maman jam jars with some magnets on the lids. #rvstorage win. This little 2014-no-style Aprés II has a long way to live up to the 1970 steeze of Aprés I, but for now pretty containers and frugal fixes make it slightly easier to ignore the "glittery turd" design theme the manufacturer went with. #ApresChalet
Living in a small space means I have to be careful on what I collect! 🌸 Items that don’t take up too room! A small jar of beads and buttons and lace made the cut! LOL.. #rvliving#021_one_word#picturethis365
In the oyster-land of the Panhandle, baked oysters are de rigueur and most often topped with parmesan cheese before baking. I like them that way, but wanted a non cheesy option so I bought some panko crumbs for my local raw bar chef who used them instead. Baked with butter and garlic too of course! Yum! #nomad#homeiswhereyouparkit#rvlife#rvliving#bakedoysters#forgottencoast
Cairns are a symbol and a reminder to our family to stay the course. To work hard at doing what is most important to us. They remind us to always say yes to adventure and discomfort. To enjoy the journey, and not be distracted by the illusion of a destination.🔥🔥
Keep on adventuring my friends!💪🏽🏔🔥

Visiting the home of Jules Verne, a travel writing great 🌍🖊🇫🇷
Kiba may be the first dog to visit the Jules Verne house...
We've got a little something going down in here.
It's new flooring! Finally!
And before it went down, the yucky old stuff had to come up. These are the putrid remains from Phase I, which was laminate planking installation in the main living area, kitchen, and bath.
I'll post before & after photos on the blog next week, after completion of Phase II: replacing the 10-year-old carpeting on slide-outs and in bedroom.
There will be no DIY tutorial. This time, we paid someone else to do the work, so Step I is "write a check," and Step 2 is "get out of the way." #iwritebigchecksandicannotlie#rvupgrades#rvrenovation#rvflooring#rvliving#fulltimerv#easywayout#ownlessdomore

Woke up today realizing that I had no idea what day it is... couldn't even begin to figure it out as any reference point felt strangely far away. I'm not going to lie... it feels great 🙌🏻 RV life at its finest 😝 #whoevenamianymore#rvliving#thepathlesstraveled
No Matter What. This is, and has been, the motto of our marriage and relationship. I used to sign all my letters to Natalie with a little symbol that looked like the letters "NMW" all run together. It's strange the things that test the validity of your vows to someone. It's not always the big things that wear you down. Instead, it's a culmination of a bunch of little things...especially the little things that are not well communicated. Even as I was typing this out, I paused so that Natalie and I could have a miscommunication (aka discussion, aka debate, aka disagreement) about how far the baby monitor will send signal.
The transition into a more downsized/minimalist style of living is a lot harder than we could have imagined, even though we thought we were ready. Nothing can prepare you for such a big dose of humility, nor the stark realization that you have TOO MUCH STUFF. Add in moving all of that stuff to the upstairs of your friend's mother's house, parking your new house on her front lawn, and trying to learn how your house even works. All while taking care of a nearly two year old whose leucine levels are high! (I'll tell you more about that in the future)
I know this is said all of the time, but I wouldn't change it for the world. As long as we hold on to the truth behind No Matter What, all the little misunderstandings and tiffs and hurt feelings are only bringing us closer together- making us more vulnerable and more humble. We love each other..and that, at the end of the day, is all that really matters. Forever, For Always and No Matter What.

I think there is a common misconception people have towards "RV Life" vs. "Van Life". So, I wanted to address it. We've heard people assume that, because you are choosing to live in an rv that you only camp at campgrounds/RV parks or have to be plugged in or have water hookups 24/7 to get by. Those assumptions are what deter people away from choosing an rv over a van and it's just completely incorrect. We have stayed at full hookup campgrounds maybe 3 times and it's when we are attending a family event where we need to be close to them and there are no spare driveways to stay in. Nine times out of ten you'll find us dispersed camping at a free BLM site, National forest, the occasional Walmart, or a Flying J's/Pilot. We do stealth camp in high traffic areas occasionally because we have a class C RV which is allowed to be in any parking spot that a car can park in (we were parked on a Denver street downtown for 4 months before starting renovations). But we didn't move into the RV to stay in the city, now did we? We had a Ford Econoline conversion van before buying Nigel and Nigel is what fit our family best. The point of my rant is directed towards all of our followers mulling over the idea of living tiny--decide on a van or an RV or bus, or fifth wheel, or airstream based on your own personal needs and not what is trendy or falsely advertised! We are all chasing the same exact thing.. #slowcarfasthome
We have been pretty stationery for the last several weeks, back and fourth to our parents houses on the East Coast. We came back for the holidays and then extended our stay to get some work done and regroup before heading back out on the road. We'll be headed to North Carolina next but not on any specific day. That's one of our goals this year, to take everything a little slower and enjoy each place we stop in a bit longer. Make less plans...Less leave this day and arrive this day. We'll see how that goes...it's really hard to not want an ever-changing view out of this window! #slowcarfasthome
