I finished the winding sticks. Even though its not as classically colored like normal ones are, the high contrast bright colors work really nicely. I might have to go over them again to make sure they're still straight but any movement is probably not critical. They need some boiled linseed oil at least.
I started a holding box for my carving stuff so I can get it put away and out of the little cardboard it came in. It has a few dovetails in it and that's one of them. I'm glad I went with this over the valet trays cuz I'm still making mistakes with dovetails. Also it gets some stuff out of the way which is also nice. The skewed knife that I just glued together the other day is already doing what I wanted it to. Although I don't think the double grind was the best choice for it but I can just make another.
I am so excited how this turned out! Sometimes I question whether the vision I have in my head make sense and never really know until I get going. I don't work with a plan. I typically just throw on some jams and see what happens. I'll thank #boniver for this one.
Honestly, a part of me wants to keep this for myself. A lot of time went into it. BUT. First to "Dibs"... 😉
