Hello, bookish lovelies 📚💕
QOTD: Favorite Six of Crows character?
I love them all, but I think Wylan is adorable!! He seems like such a cinnamon roll 😊
Cold day today. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this year, and what I want out of life. Super deep topics, I know 😂 They need to be discussed, though. There are a lot of things in my life that are up in the air, and that’s hard to handle.
Be magical today, lovelies 🦄
And here we have another book club pick. Just so you know I am actively involved in two in real life book clubs and one online book club. Yowza! That keeps me super busy with reading. And, I LOVE it. There is nothing I enjoy more than discussing all the bookish things with people who also love books. It is my absolute favorite. Some further information in case you are interested--one of my in real life book clubs is a work one. We meet after work once a month for happy hour at a local restaurant and discuss the book. The other book club I moderate and participate in is at a lovely winery in my area. Honestly, if you can meet at a winery--DO IT. You will not regret it. Wine + Books = Magic. (That should be on a shirt, don't ya think?)
Anyhoo, Young Jane Young by Gabrielle Zevin is a book I read for my work book club. Before I get to the ins and outs of the book, I have to say that this book really did foster some great discussion. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
The book's main conflict calls to mind all of the news stories involving men in power and the treatment of women who work with them. It is especially reminiscent of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal that occurred during the mid nineties.

“Mas como decidir entre duas boas opções? Como decidir se qualquer escolha deixaria parte de mim destruída?”
Livro: A Elite
Autora: Kiera Cass

Book review! Well, actually series review
📚Beka Cooper trilogy: Terrier, Bloodhound, Mastiff (fifth series of Tortall universe)
✍️by Tamora Pierce
Beka Cooper is a member of the Provost's Guard, essentially the police, in the Lower City (slums) of Corus (capital city). The first book is her training year and each book follows a specific Hunt (case).
This is my least favorite of the Tortall series (well, actually the Numair series is set up to be my least favorite but we'll get back to that when it comes out). I still like it a lot, but it doesn't have the magic of the others.
Pierce switched to a journal format, where the others were a close third person. I liked Beka's voice, but preferred the other format. I liked that you got a better feel for the other characters in the close third.
I did enjoy the transition to a commoner's perspective and a different kind of magic. Beka is a great character, another great role model for young girls. She's shy but ferocious and doesn't let anyone tell her what she can and can't do.

↬ Question: What is your favourite tea? ☕️
↬ Answer: Peppermint or Rose tea 🌿🌹
Happy Wednesday morning to all of you bookish dragons! 🐉 I hope you are all having a happy, productive and positive day today 💡
I finally did it! I rearranged my whole bookshelf and made a pile of books I should probably sell 🙈 I'm actually really happy with how my shelves turned out, they are still in colour order but just with different books 😊 As for the rest I'm going to sell them so they can bring someone else joy 😋 Also I've been drinking a lot of peppermint tea lately, I've been finding that it helps you get to sleep a bit faster and makes you kinda drowsy so yeah.... perfect accompaniment for a good book before bed ☕️
Happy reading :)
“For the record, while it's very charming that you keep trying to protect me, I would like to remind you that I actually know how to defend myself." He grimaced. "I know. It's just... instinct." "Well, stop it." He held his hands up. "Won't happen again." He hesitated. I mean, unless I'm pretty sure you're about to die, then I'm absolutely going to rescue you, whether you like it or not.”
Have you checked out #UnlikelytoFit the second #book in my #ParkerLake#series ? When Breckin Henderson returned to her hometown of Parker, Oklahoma, with her college sweetheart and football coaching husband, she didn’t expect him to leave her for the head cheerleader as soon as she walked across the graduation stage. Never one to tuck tail and run, Breckin remained in Parker with her friends and dad. But picking up the pieces of her shattered life proved more difficult than she could ever imagine, especially in a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business. To outsiders, Griffin Stephens looked like a man someone wouldn’t want to meet in a darkened alley. Big muscles, tattoos from head to toe, shaved head, rugged beard, leather jacket wearing Harley rider did not equate to a man some lucky woman would take home to meet her daddy. For residents of Parker, however, Griff was a gentle giant. The man who came home with a broken heart when the love of his life was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. The grandson who drove his eighty-nine year old grandmother grocery shopping each week. The bartender who took over the bar his grandfather owned and subsequently took his grandfather’s place listening to the town’s troubles. Gentle. Dependable. Trustworthy. Kind.
In a moment of weakness, Breckin agrees to help Griff plan his precocious Mema’s ninetieth birthday party. Both Breckin and Griff’s hearts have been broken once before. As they grow closer, will they be able to put their fears and insecurities aside and try to discover love again? Or will their hearts be too broken to ever completely mend?
One #amazon#reader says, “Loved both these characters! Literally couldn’t put the book down. Every page I felt like I was in the book with them. Absolutely can’t wait for the next book to come out. Ashlie is an amazing author who captivates your from the very first chapter! Love Griff and Breckin hope the next book completes their love story!” #romance#love#read#reading#booksofinstagram#bookstagram#book#bookworm#books#bookaholic#bookworm#kindle#me#selfie#beautiful#funny#cute#follow#picoftheday#goodvibes#indie#instagood#fashion
One day left of exams, I can’t wait for them to be over!
Oh look... it’s another Harry Potter post...what a surprise😅 Can you tell I’m obsessed?😍
Seriously though, this is great. Why on earth did it take me so damn long to read them!?😅
Reading update - Last 250 pages. Good progress is being made. I’m somehow managing to divide my time quite well between reading and revision.🤨 I’m very proud of myself😂
What an appropriate day for some wintery colored books! We are currently gearing up for the big snow storm. We shall see how much snow we actually get though...
My plan for today is to stay in and get some major reading done! I absolutely flew through The Cruel Prince in the last... um day and a half? 😬😂 And I feel like making the most of this 4 day weekend. And by that I mean reading as many books as possible 💁🏻♀️
What was your last 5 star read?

Thank you to @skyhorsepub for gifting me Switching Gears by Chantelle Sedgwick @authorchantelesedgwick. This sounds different than any other book I’ve read and I look forward to reading it!
Still mourning the loss of Lucas Nelson, the boy she loved in secret for years, seventeen-year-old Emmy Martin turns to her passion for mountain biking to try to fill the empty void in her life. But just when things start looking up, Emmy discovers her mom has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Confused and angry that her parents didn’t tell her sooner, she throws herself into mountain biking like never before.
When Cole Evans, the rich boy who usually doesn’t care about anything but himself, offers to train her for the biggest mountain biking race of the season, she accepts, determined to beat her nemesis, Whitney, and prove she’s good enough for a sponsor. The more time she spends with Cole, the more she realizes he’s different than she’d expected, and, to her surprise, she’s falling for him. Torn between the deep feelings she still has for Lucas and her growing ones for Cole, she knows she must choose a path: one offers her the chance to love again, while the other is blocked by the overwhelming heartache for the boy she lost.
As she drifts further away from her family and closer to her dream of being sponsored, a terrible accident threatens any semblance of peace and happiness she has left. Instead of closing herself off to the people she loves, Emmy must learn to rely on those she has pushed away if she’s going to have any chance of getting her life back again.

Crazy Friday, here I come!! Started it off well with coffee, devotions, and finishing a good book. 😊 #imbringingsimpleback
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! Woo hoo! I’m super excited that the weekend is finally and while I’ve still got some things to do/go to before I can relax, the prospect of a day off is rather nice 😍 I think I may even watch Spirited Away this weekend? Maybe even tonight? I don’t talk about this on here very often but I LOVE Miyazaki! I am a huge huge fan and Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle in particular are some of my favorites though I still very much adore Kiki’s Delivery Service and Princess Monoke and a ton of his other films! Who else is a Miyazaki fan??!! What’s your favorite movie of his??
