Didn’t run in frigid temperatures or snow today after realizing running with 6 layers and being swaddled in a blanket isn’t exactly easy. Did an 18 mile Spin Session, followed by an Upper Body Weight Session. I seriously wanted to veg on the couch and eat my weight in comfort food but I’m grateful for @chad_operation_fit and the FitFam I follow who motivate me to push myself daily. I have honestly thought of every excuse to talk myself out of working out but seeing Chad continually kill it or seeing all your workout pics/posts, causes me to ditch my excuses. Thank you FitFam for all your inspiring posts! Let’s slay this week!
“I have felt more freedom than I ever thought. Having my meals planned and practicing discipline, self control and obedience has given me so much freedom in my mind and in my schedule to do other things I enjoy and am called to. I don’t have to dwell over what I’m eating next, regret a decision I made that didn’t exemplify obedience, or scramble to find food last minute. I have seen such a difference in the ways I view Lord, myself and others in just 3 days that it has kept me up at night because of how much I’m learning. Seriously has been the coolest 3 days (well now almost 4 😊), and I’m excited for more!” .
This is my dear friend Hailee. We first met through iGo when she went on a trip. And we had the opportunity of reconnecting through my business. Now she’s a part of my team, babysits my boys as well as all the kids from our community group from time to time, and I get to chat with her daily through text since we’re always encouraging each other on our journeys to live more intentionally with our health and fitness. .
I want you to really take a moment to read above what she wrote this week only 3 days in to our current program. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I’m not a fan of the name of the new program - so instead of focusing on “obsession,” our challenge group is focusing on “obedience,” and I feel like Hailee’s response above is the perfect encapsulation of what the discipline of a program like this can bring in regards to FREEDOM. .
It’s challenging, sure. But it can provide such FREEDOM and PEACE through obedience and discipline. .

After all those squats at home, I went to the gym. And like every day at the gym, I got on that darn stair master and made it my bitch. 😎 I also wanted to work on my core and back strength today, so most of my machine work outs were along those lines. And here I am cooling down on the treadmill 🙂

Day 16 #100daysofpractice trying to work out the finger/bow “eeks” that happen every time I play this section of the first Telemann Fantasia. Am quite dissatisfied with today’s practice but that is life! These new strings are not forgiving, but I like the sound in general. Thank goodness for my lesson this upcoming Wednesday! Other things covered: scales, Sevick, Schradieck, Roumanian Folk Dances, Berceuse (Fauré), Kreutzer 1 & 2. Yet more intonation work. #progressnotperfection
My workout plan consists of 5 workouts a week, my goal is at least 3, and I did that 🤗 I didn’t get all 5 (because life), but that’s okay #progressnotperfection. I’ve been trying to get back into a gym routine since I went back to work in mid November. If I made it, it was only once a week, and it wasn’t every week, so this is huge progress for me. I’ve ALWAYS used a gym, so the idea of at home 🏡 was weird for me, but I’d say it’s going well so far.
Happy Sunday! Every Sunday I like to sit down and look at my day planner and make sure I haven’t missed anything for the week ahead. I never want to lose track of my goals and always want to make sure I am on the right path to achieve everything I want! People might doubt you or question you, but as long as you have goals and a plan to get there, don’t worry about everyone else! Believe in yourself and your dreams and you will achieve everything you’ve ever wanted! .

The main reason I started this account was the hold myself accountable to practice this hobby I was taking up. But it has also served me as a record of my progress!! This week’s #homwork with @homsweethom was to redo a piece from at least a year ago and check in on that progress (note: practice makes progress- NOT perfection!). So. Here we are. The original post (next slide) was posted 1/22/17. I was insanely proud of it because I really pushed myself out of my comfort zone. It’s one of the early versions of me mixing fonts AND I read featured by @crayola - which I still can’t believe. This exercise was so great for me. I am still proud of the original... but I am even more proud to see how far i have come in just a year!
