What’s happening on the upcoming #TEP2018 coastal adventure in April... Day 13: Waking up in #NaturesValley - we spend the morning with @nvtrust, the a local research and #conservation organisation, doing a flower walk and learning about the endemic #fynbos species of the area. Fynbos is unique to #SouthAfrica - which makes it a top conservation priority. Then we head further down the coastline, through the charming town of #Knysna, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset at the @knysnawaterfront, and finally onto the arts and market centre of the GardenRoute - #Sedgefield.

Ocean Blue Adventures in Plettenberg Bay will introduce you to a world of humpback and southern right whales, joyous dolphins by the dozen, and Cape fur seals by the thousand. The Robberg Marine Protected Area, a long, natural peninsula, is also home to thousands of Cape fur seals that are waiting to meet a whole lot of friendly faces. 'Plett', as it’s fondly known locally, is roughly in the middle of the southern Cape coastline, and its high marine biodiversity is thanks to a lack of industrial pollution, a watchful ecotourism industry and a few natural assets, including a long coastal shelf and the beautiful Robberg peninsula, which is also a declared nature reserve. My friends @juliantreger and @louisatreger have the most extraordinary beach walkway in the world ( I don’t say this lightly) in Plettenberg Bay where I am on holiday at the moment. The walkway winds its way from their famous beach house ( both of which are designed by Silvio Rech and Leslie Carstens to “undulate with the dunes and hills”) through the wild South African indigenous bush to the sea. I was at the walkway’s unveiling last year and I was blown away by its beauty and the process involved in the design. It took a year to design as the site is complicated plus protected Milkwood trees had to be avoided. It took another year to build it .The whole process especially the curved railing is an incredible feat of design and manufacturing.. It also has fabulous places to sit , watch the sunset , lie down, and shower along the way .I cannot describe to you how amazing it is in real life especially gliding ones hands over the organic curved railing .. a most magical walk through the indigenous bush echoing the other suspended walkways at Kew and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Its so worth looking at all the photographs I have included of it in the slide show. #plettenbergbay#beachhouse#beachwalkway#design#architecture#southafrica 📷@condenastsa
