i finished this book 4 hours ago but i'm still in a state of mourning and shock??? whereas the first three novels of #redrising felt like jumping into a series of explosions, #irongold is the type of book that slowly positions itself to poison both you and everyone you love,, it's definitely very different from the previous installments in that it slows down the action (though there are still plenty to go around in classic red rising, heartstopping fashion) for politics and world building.
what i love so much about this series is that it's so unflinchingly human and morally ambiguous; pierce brown isn't afraid to explore the depths of that humanity and both the ugly and good that can arise from our actions (sometimes they aren't necessarily separate but also intertwined). iron gold explored these topics very well through each of the four POV characters and their conflicting ideas of morality. most of the characters aren't essentially "good people," yet you know they're trying the best they can to live well and survive in a life too cold to care about them. as a result, a lot of the decisions the characters were forced to make broke my bloodydamn heart. i'm both dreading and excited to see where they end up after the chaos of this book! as sevro au barca so aptly puts it, "shit escalates" 😩

#reflections#thoughts on a #morning#stroll#walk .... as One of the best indicators of a #positive turnaround - things have gotten better - the Tide has turned - is the ability to #laugh where I couldn’t before - at all. Example: For awhile now I’ve noticed something. Those who publicly write me off, give me the brush-off - diss me - disrespect me- keep their distance as though I’ve got nuthin’ will go nowhere but privately instinctively know better and watch me Like a hawk with everything I do - from a distance 😄 and the crazy cray seems to be more magnified on #socialmedia as I’ve entertained the #thought of liking certain #photo#photos or #page#pages I normally wouldn’t and comment on certain #post#posts in a manner so out of character for me only because I know those who watch everything I do online 😀 Now on the flip-side If watching like a hawk helps the cause to walk circumspectly - well then how bad can that be? 🙂 So #goodvibes#positivevibes#itsallgood yet the humor of the bat cray doesn’t escape me. So - why is this? Short answer #highschoolneverends If I fall flat on my face - then don,t know who the **** Greg is - haven’t seen that ************ in my life #bruh We’re the Cool Kids - Don’t want to be seen with no ****** loser-dweeb brah - but when #success Greg!!! Dude! The Man .... Wait a minute isn’t being fascinated by - watching the supposed loserosity of a loser-deeeb more loser-dweeb than that loser-dweeb? 🤣 .... 🤔 Darkest Before The Dawn? Good luck with that Greg I’ll be back at #dawn 😀😁😂 Helloooo Digital Detox 😎 #travel#photography#gratitude#grateful#reflection#reflecting#reflectionsbygreg

“Myths are simply stories about truths we've forgotten.”
― Rick Riordan, The Sword of Summer
It is time for another reading weekly update!
I haven’t read much last week, as I went back to work and to university. I needed to take care of myself this week, to study also and simply didn’t want to read. I however finished The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan and gave it 4/5 stars – as every Rick Riordan’s books, I thought it was brilliant and incredibly entertaining. Still, I didn’t like it as much as I expected because I felt as if this story was to close to Percy’s one and that sometimes Magnus’s voice became Percy’s. I wanted to hear Magnus, to get to know him, and instead I felt as if I was with Percy again, as if he was the one talking. I adore Percy, don’t get me wrong, but I wish Magnus would have been different and had his own personality. I can’t wait to read more about him to see what will happen though!
After that, I picked up What I Didn’t Post on Instagram and gave it 2.90-3/5 stars. It was interesting and I’m glad I read it *but* I thought that the stories were always the same and that the message behind it was a bit weak. I wish it could have opened my eyes but it didn’t. Plus, I thought they’ll be pictures in it – I mean, it’s about Instagram. But there weren’t any and as I finished it, I was a bit disappointed by it.
Finally, I read The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher and gave it 4.25/5 stars (admire my weird rating). I adored it and made me love Carrie even more. I could hear her voice and it was like having a very long conversation with her, even though the book is pretty short. It introduced me to memoirs and I know for sure that it is a genre I’ll be reading more of in 2018.
I am currently reading Béatrix by Balzac and, as expected, I am adoring it. I don’t know yet what I’ll be reading next, probably Rebel Spring but we’ll see!
Tell me about your reading week! ✨
Hello sweet booknerds 🧡
How have you all been? Today was a lazy day for me so nothing much happened 🙈
I used to be obsessed with funko pop’s, I bought way to many of them in the day. I kicked off but still have some and my favorite one is the mad hatter 😄
What is your favorite funko pop? 📚
Hello loves! How are you? What have you been up to? .
I’m going to Paris this year and I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some beautiful places to visit. I’m only going for four days but I want to see as much as I can!
