Frozen! Paddling in minus 3 degrees Celsius mean ice everywhere. On my paddle, deck and dry suit. Temperature like this call for proper paddling cloth. I’d padded in my dry suit with woolen and synthetic layers underneath. My head was warm from a tick woolen balaclava and whitewater helmet. My body from several layers of marino and synthetic isolation inside my dry suit. Feets was a bit cold mostly from to little space inside the trail runners because of too many layers of socks, latex and neoprene. #ice#thisispackrafting#packrafting#adventuretravel#packraft#microadventure
Looking for a rad international expedition to check out with some friends in 2018?
Check out the remote section of the La Venta River as it flows down a deep gorge known as "Secret Canyon" in Mexico. The gorge provides access to multiple caves with great scenery and archaeological interest, including the Cueva del Rio La Venta.
The adventure usually takes 3 to 6 days and can require complex logistics.

What do you love more: the journey or destination?
Are you in a rush to complete the trail faster than the posted times or just want to soak it all in and take all the time in world?
I used to be a #peakbagger, you know, the person who only cares about finishing the trek and summiting. But since moving to the Yukon and getting my a butt kicked countless times or trails simply not existing, I've learned to love the journey and the detours equally.
On one such detour, a small canyon beside a not so raging river we decided to raft down.More on that later.
For this canyon, the walls narrowed so tight we just pushed ourselves by our hands through until a waterfall appeared a short distance away. It was hard to decide whether to look up at the dense forests growing high above the steep walls, or that crystal blue water that was so bright it looked fake.
Just think of all those times you've ended up at that beautiful body of water and wished you had a boat.
Our mission at Kokopelli Packraft is to get our rafts in every type of adventurers hands. Whether you're into backpacking, biking, skiing.. you name it! Our packrafts can only add to the fun.
Check out #PackraftingAnd for some serious multi-sport inspiration!
The trip to Säveån was my first chance to test the expedition bow bag I received a few days after new year. I managed to squeeze in my lunch, thermos with half a liter of the, first aid and repair kit, extra beanie, paddling mittens together with my camera. And there was still room for more. All essentials for a winter packrafting day trip. This roomy update of the bow bag was very well a needed call. Thanks @alpacka_raft#bowbag#thisispackrafting#adventuretravel#packrafting#packraft

Don't let a little bad weather rain on your parade.
We went to the Okarito Lagoon hoping for panoramic reflections of the Southern Alps and New Zealand's highest mountain, Mt Cook while admiring the variety of birds using this area as a sanctuary.
What we got was a downpour. But as we paddled the small channels rising along with the tide, between the raindrops we could hear a chorus of birds hidden in the canopy and not a hint of civilization.
It's the little escapes into nature that can sometimes be the most impactful.
"The Emerald Beauty" The Soča River is said to be one of the rare rivers in the world to retain such color throughout its length making it one of the most beautiful and unspoiled valleys in Europe @kokopellipackraft

Redd for at soveposen skal bli våt når du er på tur? Med TiZip sikrer du at viktig utstyr holder seg tørt, samtidig som du får et lavere tyngepunkt og bedre kontroll over packraften 😉
Ingen liker en våt sovepose! 😎
Every year I set myself the same three goals.
1. Go somewhere new.
2. Try something different
3. Do one thing that scares you.
Crossed all three off my list in the first weeks of this new year when I went packrafting in the backcountry of New Zealand's South Island. Floating down crystal clear waters and watching the sun dip behind giant forested mountains was as memorable as it was beautiful.
So excited to have found a new way to explore the world around me.
A huge thanks to @kokopellipackraft@aquabound and @hitec_usa for helping us paddle and hike to such an amazing place.

Paddling the North Fork of the Virgin, the lone river in Utah designated as Wild and Scenic. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, and @americanrivers is leading the charge to protect 5000 new miles of rivers this year. Give them a follow and see how you can contribute.

@beccatarbox Sending the Sandy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We had a short window in the afternoon of decent weather aka it was lighty raining and not pouring and you could almost see the sun. Since packrafting is so fun we decided to get a lap in down the Sandy instead of night boarding. The temps were in the high 30s and the river was raging from all the rain and snowmelt off the glaciers on Mt. Hood. We hiked up along the river and put in right into an awesome Class II+ rapid and got completely soaked to the core. I thought I was going to get hypothermia again but peeing in my wet clothes made me stay warm. Thank you baby for always being down for stupid wild decisions. @kokopellipackraft
What a crazy fourth term it has been! Despite hardly posting any images I have been away on trips lots - particularly for work and in running packrafting courses for the public. Thus it was awesome to finish off the term with my first week of school holidays being a private trip down the Franklin with a great crew of friends! We had a fantastic time and I’ll post some more shots, and hopefully some video, shortly. Wishing everyone all the best for Christmas from downunder in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia! #packraft#packrafting#franklinriver HUGE thanks to @todd_blackhall for transporting and supporting us and for joining us for Day 1
