NATURE ALWAYS WEARS THE COLORS OF SPIRITS
Location: Magpopongko Beach, Pilar, Siargao, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines
Diaries of a yellowtravelbug:
We reached the port of Del Carmen from Sugba right before the rain started pouring. However, that didn’t stop us from still heading to our second stop. From Del Carmen, it took us about 30 minutes to get to Magpopongko beach. Though it was raining quite hard already by that time, all of us still chose to brave the rain to reach the famous rock pools which are only visible during low tide. It was cold and windy by the surface but surprisingly, when we jumped in the pool the clear water was warm (It was quite relaxing actually).
While half of the pool was only about 5ft deep, the other half is probably above 10ft deep.
Since we needed something to warm ourselves up, our tour guide, Kuya Bebot, treated everyone with unlimited balut (one of the most famous exotic filipino delicacies) and buko pie.
Overall, yesterday was an amazing experience. For everything we did, the fee of Php1500 was more than worth it.
A little Hawaii 4x4 adventure. Driving up the mountain and with all the rain Hilo’s been having... a small stream on the way up turned into a river on the way back down. It washed out the road making it dangerous. We made it back across safely, but it was hairy. 🤙🏼
