Some days I like to go a little lighter on the weight and perform higher reps (especially for back) if I’m not feeling it work the target muscle that day. Last night I hit back/chest/Abs and my chest is finally starting to get a little better. Still staying away from free weights for a bit but I’m able to do machines and cables in a controlled range of motion fine. Here’s the full workout I did below 🔽
▶️Barbell Rows: 6x 15,10,8,6,6,15
▶️Body weight rows (Trx bands): 2x failure
▶️Pull-ups: 3x failure
▶️Single Arm lat pull down: 4x 8-12
▶️Cable flys (high setting): 4x15
▶️Decline bench press: 5x10-12
**Supersetted with 1 minute planks
▶️Single arm cable fly (low setting): 4x10-15
▶️ Hanging leg raises: 3x failure
Absofreakinglutely. It’s become a very conscious effort for many people, for the most part, to put the phone down and have an eye to eye, heart to heart, soul to soul interaction with another human. The first thing we do when uncomfortable is pick a phone up and scroll to cut the tension or disengage instead of feeling the moment. Direct and honest interaction, with Love at the core, should be the norm. Not the exception. Presence has become uncomfortable. Get uncomfortable. Especially with those people who mean a lot. A little bit of magic may just happen ❤️
One of the funniest/dumbest things is when you know someone that has been prepped by a coach to do a show and then they have a fallout with their coach and they go on to post how they did their prep all on their own with no one else’s help lol really guys? Lol I do understand there’s good and bad coaches. I’m referring to the good ones that definitely did their part. It’s kinda funny reading there explanation as to how they did and learned everything themselves when you know damn well who helped them lol

I am getting really close to being the strongest I have ever been on all 3 major lifts (Squat, Bench, Deadlift). Already into week 3, I am feeling more confident about each one of my lifts. There comes a time in my training where I start lifting numbers I have never lifted before, and during that time, I enjoy working out more than anything because it makes me want to continue progressing.
Because of my show in September and my recent hand burn, I haven’t been able to really have that feeling as I have just been playing catch up. But I am getting really close. It’s hard to judge how close because I am still at he beginning of this programming, but within the next few weeks I should be hitting PRs consistently (Or at least that’s what we are working for).
Taking it day by day and enjoying this journey. 💪🏾 #attackdogs#breakbarriers

You can’t beat the views of Big Sur, California. I’ve been in California for over a week now, spending some of my time in Los Angeles before venturing to northern California on Saturday. Recently, I decided to venture south of San Francisco for a few days with a couple of friends to see what the hype was about around Monteray. It definitely didn’t disappoint! Though my IG stories may make it seem like I’m having a blast all the time, they truly are just small snippets of my life, highlight reels. I work on the road as well. I try to post that too, morning work in coffee shops, editing, lectures, seminars, various projects, but let’s be real, work-life in general is just not that interesting 😅
A few days, I received a client request to revise a training routine…..at 11 p.m. I’m sure they expected me to have it revised and sent out in a couple days, which is a very reasonable time frame, but instead I stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish it for them so they could have it that morning. Because I had been tired from being on the move all day, it was very tempting to just push it off for the following morning. When I sign on a client, one of the first things I do is call them to build a personal relationship and let them know what to expect. One of the promises I make is to be very responsive, as I’ve heard coaches taking 3+ days to respond (super common) which is not my cup of tea. Bodybuilding competitors also require a lot of attention, and having competed in the past, I definitely understand. And for that reason too, I even give them my personal number for contact.
Point is, go the extra mile and exceed their expectations. It’s worth it for their success and yours. This is something my friends Chris and Eric of @dynamicduotraining harp on all the time; give them a follow for awesome advice! If this is something you feel you can be better with, they were kind enough to provide me with a free business course link for you guys. It’s in my bio for you to check out!

Looked pretty good at this point but pulled too much water/food leading up to show day... each prep you learn a little bit more about your body's reactions in this extreme state. For me, experimenting with all these different variables is half the fun of the sport!
