Like the lats, the pecs can pull our shoulders forward and into the hunched over position. Our day to day function and movement, is predominantly based with tasks in front of us, where we are reaching forward.
So this in itself is a good reason to take yourself out of that forward position, and open your chest up with some daily pec stretches!
- Place your hands and forearms along the sides of a door frame, and make sure your elbows are slightly above your shoulders for the most ideal stretch. In this position, move your chest forward to increase the stretch.
- The previous stretch can also be performed on one side at a time on a wall or pole. Begin with one arm in the same position as the previous stretch (elbow above shoulder) and bring your chest forward. With the single side stretch, make sure to focus on keeping your shoulders and hips square. You can place your free hand on your hips for some added feedback to help you with this.
- Lay on your side with your head and top knee supported. Making sure to keep your knee on the support, rotate and open your chest up as far as you can finishing with your hand above your shoulder. To get the most out of this stretch, focus on 5 long breaths in and out before switching sides. This is a great stretch for the muscles of your chest, and possibly the lats and hips for those of you who are tight all over.
- Try using these #stretches where you can throughout your day on a consistent basis, you should see some great improvements with your #posture and shoulder range of motion, enjoy! @novahealthclub
A program designed to support and encourage young students (grades 3-8) to learn about themselves, entrepreneurship and running a business. They will gain confidence in themselves, their ability to make decisions and speaking with others.
NOTE: program runs daily from March 26 - March 31 - see below.

Each participant will pick a product to make and sell at the YES™ Market Place which will be held at the end of the program. During the program they will learn how to create a simple business plan. They will also learn how to market their product via networking and social media.
The Spring Break Session begins on March 26, with classes running from 10 – Noon. There will not be a class on Friday. The Market Place will be held on Saturday March 31st from 10 – Noon. We’ll hold the last session Saturday after the Market Place. Here they’ll have a chance to “close out” their financials and determine if they made a profit.
Each class will cover a different topic related to running a business. The topics covered include Vision & Mission, Marketing, Communications and Finances, In addition we are also adding an Idea Mindteam™, where the participants will have a chance to discuss and share their ideas in a facilitated mastermind format discussion. I’m really excited to bring this piece to the process. As a proponent of Masterminds I think the idea of experiencing them early in life is another key to success.

Planking is a simple yet effective bodyweight exercise. Holding the body---light as a feather, stiff as a board, develops strength primarily in the core---the muscles that connect the upper and lower body---as well as the shoulders, arms, and glutes.
Our plank challenge @sourcecorestudio will take place during the first 10-15 minutes of class at the beginning of Sunday's 8:30 Willpower & Grace class. There will be door prizes, medals for 1st-4th place, and certificates for all participants! Please sign up for class to participate.
