Did you know that dolphins can reach the ripe old age of 40 or more in the wild? In captivity, they survive only a few years. They’re social animals used to living in large pods. No matter how good the aquarium is, it doesn’t replicate the natural environment that they’re used to. It was mesmerising watching them swimming alongside our boat - in the wild where they belong.

I reckon I could take photos of Mount Ngauruhoe every day for the rest of my life and still not be satisfied. It really is something to look at whether you are up close or or far away. I would encourage everyone in the community to visit the Tongariro NP at least once in the lifetime. I guarantee that you’ll be absolutely blown away by it. Question - what mountain are you obsessed with?
This is from a New Zealand morning at Moke Lake. I had been awake most of the night shooting the Southern Lights and only managed to sleep for about an hour in the passenger side of my car rental before begrudgingly pulling myself out of my warm sleeping bag and into the frigid morning air. The lake was completely still and the fog began to reveal the surrounding peaks that were being burned with the light of the rising sun. Worth getting up for? Always.
