If you are thinking if a vision, move on it. No matter what naysayers believe or say, its Your vision. When we began our business in 2011, there were a few reservations as to the "why" and "how with 3 kids and you guys want to homeschool too???" We didn't let any of that stop us, because our belief and faith in our vision and in ourselves was way way too great. And my motto is, 'I can show you better than I can tell you'. Instead of trying to convince people to believe in your vision, you just have to set goals, make plans and Move on that vision. It's always better a "I tried" or "I did" instead of "I should have". See, people who always have an opinion about what others should or should not be doing usually stems from a place of fear and self doubt or fear of failure that they hold within themselves..they may not mean any harm, consciously, actually..but, instead of not doing something based on fear, I would rather see how we operate within the fear...using that fear against itself and succeeding. Succeeding is not about trying or doing something that may not have worked or lasted, but doing the thing and moving on a vision in the first place. You gotta move people, because if not, what can happen is that you may harbor a silent resentment or envy towards a person or many people who are moving in their vision, operating in their goals. You can always go back to what you were doing if things do not work out, but you owe yourself a good try. Age, sex, culture, ethnicity, social nor economic demographics have absolutely nothing to do with moving on your vision...soon as you start moving, you're already winning...happy Thursday, peeps 😘
This beauty is up for grabs before tomorrow morning! I just love the design 😍 send a DM to inquire and purchase early. Rugs have been flying out the door! Don't hesitate or it'll be gone forever ❤

Stumbled upon this charming Spanish-style house and I must say, I love the vibe. Romantic, bright and just the right hints of color. Like or love? 📷: @voguemagazine

Repeat clients are the BEST! We just started another project for these homeowners and while we were meeting, I was reminded of the 1st floor remodel we did last year. This is a view from the mudroom looking in to the kitchen. #throwbackthursday#DSOhioToHinsdale

We haven't had the opportunity to design a home that could pull off this look, but can't wait till we do. We love how perfectly imperfect it all is...bravo to @houseofbrinson. We actually came across similar tile while thrifting recently (swipe 👉 to see the buttery goodness) so don't overlook those types of stores when on the hunt for something special y'all!

We'll admit it can be hard to part with our things (even though we know it is a necessary part of cleaning up). BUT we always find it easier when we know our "old" things are going to have a second life in a "new" home! 🎉 When you're cleaning out your kitchen (or any room for that matter) consider selling things you no longer need or donating them to a local charity! More tips for cleaning up (and cleaning out) the kitchen on the blog. (Link in bio! 🔝🔝)

This past weekend I visited @wrighttaliesin#taliesinwest and while it wasn’t my style, I was completely inspired and filled with takeaways! Sharing my favorite moments and facts on the blog. I am now really interested in seeing more of his work. Have you been to any #franklloydwright buildings?
The moment I realized that less is more, and other confessions are up on the blog. To be less dramatic, it’s all about how I took a boho eclectic living room, toned down the color, and turned it into a streamlined Scandinavian inspired retreat 💫 Link in profile 👆🏻
My mom and I watched the documentary Jackie: The Tale of Two Sisters. The complicated relationship between Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and her sister, Lee Radziwill, including how love, resentment, and tragedy bound them together. If you are ever so intrigued, I'd highly recommend it. Would you guys be interested in a round up of current shows I’m loving? 🎥 /// #email@example.com#LTKhome
Snowing outside, fire inside. One more view of our new front door curtains. I’m obsessed with this easy install drapery hardware and can’t wait to use this system again! More on the blog 🔥
Front door curtains, it’s a thing when it’s frozen outside. Still searching for the perfect ones, but these will do just fine for now! More on the blog!
A few days reprieve in the California sunshine was just what I needed, but now we’re back in the tundra. This winter, I added curtains to our front door to help insulate the entry. Head to the blog to learn about this great looking, inexpensive, and energy efficient solution!
This is the only room in the house that’s been spared of construction chaos, and I’m not at all upset about taking refuge in here 😂. I get a lot of q’s about these tiles, and if you can believe it, they’re actually peel and stick tiles! We needed a short term fix when we pulled up the carpet and these did the trick. The long-term plan is to run hardwoods to match the adjacent living space, but don’t worry I’m thinking this b&w pattern may appear more permanently in our laundry room and side entrance 🖤 #kandkcolonial#kandkathome#thenewsouthern

After months of no change, I finally restyled our entry nook and it’s now so much more impactful as you walk in the door. It’s amazing the gravitas a stone bust can bring to a space. And yes, I love to tuck small mementos into my mirrors to make my vignettes a bit more personal - that lotus flower is also filled with polaroids from our vacations. #kandkathome#kandkcolonial
Not too long ago, this was our master bedroom. Today, it’s looking like a complete construction zone (see today’s story for some BTS). For our future master, we’re going in a different direction with the design and I’m so excited to create a space with intention, instead of repurposing what we previously had in our apartment. We’re currently debating bright and airy or moody and cozy - what’s your preference in the bedroom? #kandkathome#kandkcolonial#sharemecrystalanninteriors
