Off to the mountains, 40 deg C colder than last weekend on Gran Canaria so I guess I’ll have more use for skis than running shoes this time.
Have a great weekend 💫

Marzo 2015 at the Pichincha volcano, with some native andes plants in the top of Pichincha mountain in Quito, Ecuador. #womenwhoexplore#womenwhohike#mountaingirls#adventurenthusiasts 💚 2015 had been a rewarding year, learned a lot about myself and mostly what I did not like. It’s been three years since this adventure and I had many moments this month where I commenced a new trip to South America and trek/hike up #Cotopaxivolcano.
Here comes the sun ☀️ I love early morning hikes, good food, and game nights. Today I get all three😊 Excited for this week on Oahu catching up with so many friends! Shot by @everchanginghorizon, who incidentally, is also really good at cooking🤷🏻♀️ #Hawaii#happydance
It’s crazy how fast this first month of 2018 is flying by. I haven’t been able to get out to the mountains nearly as often as I would’ve hoped but sometimes more important things like family visits, house projects and nursing illnesses dominate our time. And for good reason! I am definitely guilty of that FOMO (fear of missing out) mentality but also realize when other things are far more important. The time spent with family is priceless and staying healthy in a time when 18 million Americans are reported to be battling the flu virus this year, is paramount. It just makes getting out to the mountains, that much more special when the time comes. Looking forward to a healthy balance of rest and enjoyment of my new home as well as making new mountain memories this year!
Originally I had planned to travel elsewhere but due to unforeseen circumstances, I switched plans. It was a no brainer to come here as there were several hikes on my list and this was one of them. In Iceland I learned how to cross over rivers so it totally prepared me for The Narrows. I was definitely meant to be here!
As the sun made its final dip under the horizon, the light shot down this canyon and set the whole desert on fire. I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of beautiful places. But I’ve never seen the world glow like it did that evening.
Awesome times with @everchanginghorizon (📷), @luke.sky.watcher, and @jakecure
I’ll tell you.. one of the best things you can do to set your manifestation mode into hyper drive is find a friend who’s just as excited and motivated as you are. I imagine that the people @diabeticyogini and I cross paths with on our adventures must think we are a little insane as we excitedly bounce ideas back and forth while we crush our way up whatever we are hiking or skinning 🤪
