Today the #motionize Superior arrived, a new world of training data to analyze. It was to late to try out the gear on the lake so it was testet in the gym instead, not as fun but it worked and gave data. @huntercoachconsult I need that SUP Ergo now😁

2018 Allstar hotness. Took this beast out on its maiden voyage of 12 miles-Super impressed with the handling and shape changes. More stable and MUCH less fatigue on your legs from balancing the narrow shapes. Easy foot control rail steering and locks into draft train very smoothly. Most impressed with how it handles up wind, punches right thru chop without slowing, easily maintained speed with the 14' boards. So far so good!

Thank you @shorestand couldn't live without it 💕
The weekly TEEP is here!😉 The Nordic weapon - Fartlek
Fartlek is Swedish for speed changes and is regarded as one of the most popular and utilized training protocols among athletes.
So how to harness this nordic wonder to our paddling training?
My preferred method is to the 30 strokes / 15-20 seconds sprints every 1 km.
Throughout my career, I’ve done this session at least once a week. You paddle for 40-80 minutes at a comfortable steady state, and each 1km you sprint as hard as you can for 30 strokes or up to 20 seconds, after the effort you resume you steady state speed without stopping/putting your paddle down.
It’s extremely important not to stop after the effort so your buddy is forced to recover while paddling, this short 30 seconds bit after the sprint does wonder to your technique. Also, keeping the efforts under 20 seconds keeps them anaerobic and thus allow you to fully recover between the efforts.
Try it and tell as how it goes.

Tahoe Nalu Paddle Festival 2017! What a blast, I'm still exhausted from the weekend 😴 totally worth seeing everyone so stoked and out on the water. Really didn't even feel like a race, more of a family reunion. Managed to somehow snag a 3rd place in the 10 mile after having some issues on the water, but I'll take it!
Big mahalos to all the vendors and hosts for there unending support @erniebrassard@tahoenalu@wishiwazsurfin@hint@starboardsup@mikespaddle@tridentsports#teamstarboard will see you soon! 🌊🏄🏻

The Ace is just amazing in choppy conditions, hauls ass in the bumps 🌊🚀 Come see #teamstarboard on the beach to try the Ace and other goodies
Tip of the week: Speed variations - the secret weapon to improve your stability, speed and endurance! ☀️😎 "From Beginners to amateur racers, most paddlers have only one gear in their “paddling gearbox”, that happens because their training is “a steady state around the lake” kind of training. That's a shame since when training in different speeds the paddler is challenging their technique and also their physiological load on the body, these variations are forcing the paddler to adapt, grow and improve. So next time you’re going for your lap around the lap try to spice things up with some sprints in the beginning/end of the session or an interval protocol. My favorite 2 are Fartlek training and HIIT training but on that in future posts." Check out our blog and training plans on our website:

2017 Live Like Jay Race, one of the most challenging races I've done this year by far. Wind, swell, current, super skinny board. Definitely makes your appreciate the ocean riders who do this every day. Finished in the time I wanted but looking forward to pushing even harder next year. Seeing all the love people share for this event and each other makes the destruction to your body for a couple hours all worth it. Thanks for everything @kimbasc and the whole crew that volunteers and makes this amazing event every year such a blast.

Paddle 4 Dart 2017. What a fun race event, hung with friends and raced my heart out for this charity event. Really stoked to snag a 3rd place finish. Big thanks @hagzfilmz for the 📸
Great Russian River Race 2017 - 8.5 miles later finally at the finish. It was definitely way more challenging then I thought but so much fun. Traded the lead off and on and managed to come in 6th out of the 32 in my division. Definitely a race I'll be back for! I think I might just do all my races as #spiderman 🤣 Thanks for the 📸 @gorgedownwindchamps
