It takes a lot of effort and love to make a military/long distance relationship work, it doesn’t help when there’s people around you who don’t understand and blindly judge your relationship. I’ve heard people make “dependapotamus” jokes towards me. I’ve heard people say I’m distracted by my man. I’ve been asked “why would I ever want to date a guy who’s in the military, because they’re all jerks.” People assume my life centers around my marine because I’m always waiting for a call or a message from him. People ask me “why not forget about your marine since he’s far away, see other people instead.”But in all reality NOBODY needs to validate your relationship and irrelevant comments towards your military relationship should not affect your relationship. Especially, if those comments are from people who haven’t been in your shoes. Some people around you will never understand what is to be limited to talk to your man, to wait and wait to see when he’ll be able to come home, to be miles and miles away, to be on different time zones, to trust that he’ll be faithful while he’s away, to miss him everyday, to understand the changes he has to go through because of the military, to have someone you’re so proud of and in love with, yet being unable to be together whenever you want. All in all, continue building on LOVE and not other’s opinions. #militaryrelationship#milso#proudmilso#marines#marinegirlfriend#marinecorp#semperfi#military#militarylife#militarysupport#militarylove#airforce#army#navy#armedforces#coastguard#longdistancerelationship#love#marinemilso#militaryrelationship#support#advice#experience#usmc

With everything else that’s going on in the world and on a daily basis in our lives and communities it’s so easy to lose sight of who created us and how we got to this point in the first place. Instead of that saying “Fake it until you make it” let’s instead say “Faith It until I make it”

Fitness has impacted my life for the greater good. It’s not about the six packs, the muscles, the followers. It’s been about setting the example for my family. I had always grown up very athletic and never had to try at sports. After high school I joined the military and did a job that required a demanding amount of physical efforts on top of the basic military standards. A few years down the road I had my daughter and found myself at 252 pounds, the heaviest I had ever been. I was 100 pounds heavier than what I was allowed to weigh in the military and it hard realizing that I had let myself get over 60% body fat and could barely move. My daughter was getting ready to start eating Whole Foods and I did not want her to end up like the typical American over weight children. I start by changing my diet and would only eat whole, natural and healthy foods like her. As she got mobile I would let her stay with me and we’d “workout” together. A little baby is the best weight set you’ll ever need. We starting bonding on even higher levels while she watched me succeed she always had a smile and cheered me on!! We as a mommy daughter duo have pushed through every obstical and have helped each other rise from the set backs! That’s why fitness means so much more to me than the looks. It’s the hard work from the hard news you get to make yourself and the people you love around you better and rise above!! She is my biggest motivator and my reason why I am doing the #250kchallenge2018@bodybuildingcom@optimumnutrition
