La Medocaine : an annual mountain bike event around France’s southern Medoc region rehydrating with delightful Medoc wines. As Marathon du Medoc is better known, let’s say this is a sort of little sister. 뛰는 것보다 이게 더 낫지 않을까싶다. 언젠가 할 수 있을까 🍷🏃♀️ #medoc#wine#와인#france#프랑스#메독
WINE WALLY TIME
Navigating the vast regions and varieties of French wines has been a lot of fun and rest assured some serious research has been done in the process
This Château Maucaillou from Medoc in Bordeaux has been one of my favourites so far
The Chateau dates back to 1871 and the name 'Maucaillou' means 'bad stones' which is perfect when it comes to planting grapes
Typical of Medoc on the 'Left Bank', it is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot and Petit Verdot
I've tried 4 vintages so far and the are all consistently excellent wines and for around EUR 25, very good value for a classy Bordeaux
I was particularly impressed with the 2010 vintage. It is full of sweet and sour cherries, pomegranates, spice box, tobacco and damp earth and opened up nicely after an hour.
More to come on Left Bank, Right Bank and all things Bordeaux... .
A different view and small town after driving through Médoc. These brightly coloured buildings were perfect to lighten up a dull sky in a windy day. Surprises everywhere, you never know what we’ll discover on our tours of SW France 👌 find out more in the link in the bio.

🇺🇸 Returning to our saga, to drink a good Bordeaux without having to sell your Rolex. In the tasting we did the day before yesterday, this wine for me was the champion.
The Château-Ponjeaux demonstrated from the moment of the opening that would have a good evolution and did not disappoint, was the one that evolved more in the glass. Classic notes of black fruits, fine, soft, fresh, with ripe tannins, very delicate and perfectly integrated with the wood. I also found it the most gastronomic of the night.
Average price USD$ 50,00..
