Mahalo to the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi - Maui County Committee and Kahului Carpet & Drapery for their kokua in introducing us to their friends and family on Maui! We are hearing the same thing over and over no matter what island we are on: No Voice, No Bridge, No Action. --

I'm the only candidate for Lieutenant Governor with extensive administrative experience. As Mayor of Kaua'i, I understand how neighbor island residents are often overlooked at the state level. If elected LG, I plan to be the bridge between ALL communities across Hawaiʻi and the Governor. I will make sure every voice is heard and that action is taken to address the major issues facing our people. #ActionWithAloha 🤙
King Kamehameha I. Scroll to see the successive kings and queen. Hawai'i's history is so layered and complex and alive and elusive and beautiful and traumatic and powerful and for us, unknowable. You could spend a lifetime studying, die, come back and study more. As Anna said, "first we have to dismantle everything we thought we knew." Admit we're in kindergarten. Preschool. Learning how to undrink the koolaid. Stay humble. Heads down, pencils poised.

Anna Ruby watching Ua May Ke Ea, a film from the Pu'a Foundation. Usually museums play a 15-20 minute loop of film. We sat down thinking it would be a brief clip...and then we stayed sitting for 2 hours. We watched the entire film. We can't recommend it enough. We learned so much about Hawai'i's history and the illegal actions of the US government. We wished we knew more constitutional law just to follow it better, but really, this is a movie we could watch 10 times over and learn something new every time.
