The process of events this morning:
I wanted to do 5x3 yoke pick ups with a 5 sec. hold on the last rep. Hoping my last set would be 400 pounds.
The yoke was feeling awfully heavy around the 225 mark resulting in great frustration. I had to throw in the towel after my set at 325, first try couldn't lift it, got upset with myself, tried again and got a very difficult 3, and then called it a day.
Stood there trying to figure out all that is wrong when very slowly it dawned on me that I was calculating the weight with the yoke starting at 85, not 185. I was 100 pounds off! Therefore I got a 25 pound PR at 425!!! Despair to stupid joy in a moment!
I don't know if Dr. Jack (my sports psychologist) knows how much I learn from him. Today's session we focused on meet weekend. This is a typical post meet discussion. We discussed my emotions and how they get in the way and overtake the one thing I love. The bar makes me feel good and whole. I don't have to be elite and what others think of me have no bearing. The bar doesn't care if I make the lift or not. We starting looking back in my life to see why I care so much. I learned some amazing exercises to help me focus....to help bring me back to the bar when my mind drifts. I have so many amazing people in my life and a very strong 5+ I can count on. Thank you Dr. Jack. #healthymind#healthybody#badassby50#mastersathlete#weightliftingmasters#mastersnationals2019#yearofthejerk#thisis48#empoweredwomen#olg

Training in an unheated gym when it’s -3. I’m either dedicated or stupid (perhaps both, the terms are not mutually exclusive).
Now that the #WZAMiami is a wrap, I wanted to thank the companies whose business is supporting athletes and that helped get me through the weekend. First and foremost #blonyx I’ve been taking Beta Alanine and Creatine+HMB from @blonyx daily for over 18 months and I swear by it. They’ve been so supportive as well. Give it a shot it will help, and for 10% off use code OGGREG when ordering. @m2performancenutrition and @mikemolloy3245 the best nutritionist in the business. He’s been working with me for the past 6 months and really got my nutrition dialed in for @thewodapalooza . He was coaching tons of real elite athletes, yet he still found time to watch me compete, and made sure I was keeping my mind and nutrition right all weekend. @antivenomusa for my sore muscles. I used this during training and before each WOD to get my muscles moving. @themarcpro where I first discovered them at @thegranitegames in 206, and they helped me move when I was injured. I don’t go anywhere without the MarcPro Plus. @secondskingear for supporting the athletes all weekend with some really awesome gear. I wore the compression in a couple wods and really love their stuff. And finally @nova3labs. They don’t sponsor me, but I started using them 6 months ago at @mikemolloy3245 and @bkbodyscience suggestion and I take their products daily as well. Especially Max Adrenal. Thanks to all and now getting easy to leave Miami for the ice cold of CT
"So I’ve just finished a 2 month trial of the supplement called GLC2000 which aims to improve the health of joints and connective tissues. After opting not to have surgery on my torn rotator cuff, torn labrum and torn cartilage I was looking for ways to reduce the pain and aggravation in my shoulder from training whilst I rehabbed it and built it stronger again.
Quite simply, this stuff has done an excellent job. I can’t observe that I’m ‘not in pain’ but I haven’t had an ibuprofen in two months and I used to need them most days, I’ve hit new personal bests with overhead movements, and I’ve trained far more effectively than I could have hoped. My shoulder is certainly stronger and range of motion is improving, but most importantly I can be fully active again. If you are in a similar position with joint problems I would definitely recommend a trial for 8 weeks and find the results for yourself”
