Happy birthday to the girl who gave me the official title of Mommy. The girl who had me wrapped around her finger the minute she was born. The girl that has traveled through all the new parts of being a mom with me. The girl that loves people unconditionally. The girl who is stubborn, smart, beautiful, and full of love and kindness. It's only been 5 years since you came into our lives, but it's been a wonderful 5 years getting to be your mom and raise your precious spirit ❤️
I've been spending the most of the day away from social media, but wanted to stop in to say a quick little hello 🖐🏽😗. Hope you all are having a great are having (or had a great Tuesday). I ran across this post today and it put a huge smile on my face.
I'm so excited for this mama and the little babe growing inside her tummy. It also made me thinking about the last few posts I did. Imagine how different the world would be if alternative medical practices were more accessible. Can you imagine if when you went to the doctor for help, they also incorporated alternative healing practices and included energy practitioners on their healing teams? The world would be such a different place.
I want to do a quick poll. Show of hands in the comments 🖐🖐🏻🖐🏼🖐🏽🖐🏾🖐🏿. How many of you have had alternative medical treatments done on you and/or are people who are energy practitioners, or do body work? - 💋Renée

when i first started telling people that i was pregnant, concerns from all corners—family, friends, students, etc.—were voiced about me continuing not only to teach yoga, but to practice yoga throughout my pregnancy.
here’s the deal: yoga and exercise are not only completely safe for pregnant women, but they are highly recommended.
i teach 6-8 classes a week, sometimes more if i am teaching private sessions or subbing for other teachers, and i have been practicing some form of āsana every single day for the past 25 weeks.
not only is this activity really good for keeping me strong and preparing me for labor, but it is also ensuring a fast recovery postpartum. along with prenatal fitness classes at @thebloommethod , this practice has helped me stay centered and provided me with a vast amount of anatomical knowledge by which my students also benefit.
the best part about maintaining a strong āsana and fitness practice(as well as a balanced diet, full of healthy fats and superfoods) throughout this pregnancy, is the health and wellness of my baby. both of our heart rates are superb, the baby’s growth rate is right on target, and all of the strong kicks and versatile movement i feel every day from my little wildling is a clear sign of excellent health.
not only does this kid love the constant activity and all of my snacking habits, but the baby moves and plays with me.
heart openers have become our favorite way of sharing movement with one another.
yoga helps lower blood pressure and increase awareness. yoga helps stabilize your mood, relieves back pain, tones muscles, increases flexibility, and encourages healthy breathing patterns.
all of these things are NECESSARY for healthy pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
so the next time you see an expecting mama in down dog, cheer her on! and teachers: if you aren’t well-versed in prenatal modifications and a pregnant student of yours is new to yoga, please direct your student to a teacher who knows their stuff (likewise, if your student is super fluent in this practice, let her do her thing and don’t freeze up around her. we active mamas tend to have a sense for what works well for us)!

This February chill has got us wishing it was summer already
So, Monday morning around 3am I tried to swallow in my sleep, and my eyes shot open knowing I took Home a little something more than just a souvenir from Global Wildlife 😷. Throughout the day, I used tons of things from mother nature’s toolbox to support me and baby in a healthy way. I can’t say how thankful I am to have these resources at my fingertips this time being pregnant. No doctor visits or OTC meds. Just knowing my body and supporting it naturally, and it makes me so so happy knowing I’m in control of my health. Here’s how I stay well year round, but also how I amp it up a bit when I’m needing some extra help: •TONS of water every day
•Ningxia every single day
•essential oils •epsom salt detox bath • a lot of rest • multigreens vitamins
And I went and bought some elderberry syrup just a little while ago to help my immune system go into overdrive! I can’t wait to make my own batch!
Anyone else try this stuff yet??
