Preparing the perfect cocktail 🍹
--------------------- To double strain, put your regular strainer in or on the cocktail shaker and hold a fine mesh strainer by its handle over the glass. Pour through both strainers into the glass. If your mesh strainer is larger than the diameter of the glass, pour slowly.
The double-strained cocktail will have a distinct clarity.
But, if you have a good quality hawthorne strainer with very tight coils that will also do the most of the job.

#FernetFriday is NOW! My friend @skillbeez gifted me this amazing Fernet from Chicago and it is far the frick out.
Crafted by a collaboration between @chdistillery and @thedogmagroup this Fernet starts with the usual suspects in botanicals but switches it up by involving coffee from @darkmattercoffee and resting in @fourrosesbourbon barrels for a month before bottling.
So recap: Fernet,Coffee,Bourbon Barrel. I put it to the Hanky Panky test and what do ya know...boss! Kicked it up a notch with @nydistilling Perry’s Tot Navy Strength Gin and upped the traditional amount of Fernet a bit.

Basically you can make a tasty old-fashioned from any flavored spirits. Whisky-bourbon, rye, single malt, Irish 🍀 of course, but also tequila, mezcal, brandy, rum, genever and to a lesser extent aquavit or gin... In an Old Fashioned glass, place:
1 teaspoon superfine sugar (or on a napkin put 1 sugar cube, or put some agave syrup)
2-3 dashes Angostura bitters on top
Few drops 💦 of water
2 ounces of your base spirit (bourbon or rye whiskey 🥃 or in this case mezcal
Stir to dissolve the sugar
Add ice cubes and stir to chill
Garnish with a slice of orange 🍊 or lemon 🍋 twist or lime twist

CAFFE DI ROSE 🌹 (Created by: @CharityKJohnston) 1 ½ oz. (45ml) Coffee Grain Whiskey 1 oz. (30ml) Zucca Amaro ¼ oz. (7ml) Rose Water ½ oz. (15ml) Simple Syrup ½ oz. (15ml) Chai Infused Cold Brew ¾ oz. (22ml) Pomegranate Juice Garnish: Rose Petal - PREPARATION 1. Combine rose water, simple syrup, coffee grain whiskey, zucca amaro, chai infused cold brew and pomegranate juice in a mixing glass with ice. Stir well. 2. Strain mix into serving glass over ice and garnish with a rose petal. DRINK RESPONSIBLY!

2oz Gingerbread-infused Rum
1oz Lime Juice
3/4oz Sugar Syrup
1 Egg White
Shake the first three ingredients with ice, strain, add the egg white and shake again without ice. Strain into a coupe glass and precariously balance a gingerbread biscuit on the rim after discovering that it is impossible to peg in place.
