First full week back teaching. My feet are killing me 😂 But it’s soooo good to be in the art room and watch their faces light up when they create something they feel proud of. I managed to squeeze in a sneaky sketch during class too! 😜
We love to paint little test paintings before we commit to the final painting. A moleskin notebook is the perfect place to block out the composition and try out color palettes. Our 2018 Land & Sky calendar is selling so fast that we’ve already started dreaming of paintings for 2019!

If I had a penny for every sketchbook I started, and then abandoned soon after.. 😅🙄
I struggle with the "quick sketch" idea.. I tend to treat my sketches like big, official paintings. I labor over every line, and before I know it, I'm adding layers of paint. And then, to top it off, I get discouraged when the paint doesn't behave how I want it to.. despite the fact that it's lightweight paper, and it's in a SKETCHBOOK.
Anyway, I got this one for Christmas. I'm not aiming to turn it into a daily practice at this point, but maybe just use it when I don't have the energy to commit to an actual painting, and not abandon it mid-way through! 🙌🏻
