An historic #London church has been reborn as the first international outpost for the acclaimed Duddell’s #Cantonese restaurant of Hong Kong. Michaelis Boyd have blended old and new to create a distinct design for the restaurant which is housed in the Grade II-listed St Thomas’ church in London Bridge. “When designing the space, we wanted to celebrate the building’s rich history and highlight the difference between old and new,” says Alex Michaelis, co-founder of the practice @michaelisboyd. “We maximised the natural light that comes into the building to accentuate key heritage features and now the former church has a new lease of life.” For more information please contact: [email protected] 🥢 photography by Ed Reeve @editphoto#TomorrowPR#internationaldesign#architecture#restaurantdesign

‘While in London’ On blog.reginasturrockdesign.com (link in profile) ‘The grounds of the Natural History Museum are simply magical and each year the ice rink revolves around a giant Christmas tree. The wonderland scene, set against the backdrop of Hintze Hall, always stops me in my tracks. I have yet to put on the blades but so far it suffices to watch people on wobbly skates holding on to penguin figures and others that show off their one-foot glides. Truth be known, I haven’t skated since I was a kid.’ - Regina Sturrock #blog#whileinlondon#reginasturrock#designpoetry#designhounds
