#tbt to 2011 when running outside was my favourite thing to do... Looking at this picture was really helpful, because in my mind I was skinnier back then than I am now.... I now see that's not true! Maybe training for a half marathon is in my future. #goals
Happy Thursday everyone, I was off work today, had to look after the baby which was awesome! However just taking one more rest day still have some swelling and fluid round my knee it’s going down but slowly! I have no pain now which is awesome but I just want to be sure I am over it. So today was core and some strength work! As it’s ridiculously icey outside!
Ok so how are you guys how is your training going what did you do today let’s talk about it in the comments below 👇👇👇
What’s better than running friends? If you’re new to the Sacramento area, or to running, our SRA AmbasSRAdors know all the great spots to run! Feel free to reach out to them. Here is SRA AmbasSRAdor, @andrea_nichole916: “Hey all! I am so excited to hit the ground running, literally, to help grow the amazing running community in Sacramento. You can find me running in what I call my backyard, the American River Parkway, and showing up for just about every local race or running club I can. When I'm not running I'm home cuddling with my cats and hubby while watching anything on Food Network or chilling with the mouse himself at Disneyland. Make sure to wave or say hello next time you see me out and about, I'm always up for meeting new running friends.” #runSRA#teamSRA#SRAambasSRAdor
THE TEN FASTEST MALE 200M RUNNERS A-T WITH ALTITUDE AND WIND ADJUSTMENT
This is an alternative all-time list showing the runners who truly are the fastest in the world. Since wind and altitude are significant factors in the sprint events, I made this to better show you what the real all-time list would look like. The 2nd and 3rd fastest times from an athlete also have been included if they were better than the 10th man.

One of your New Years resolutions was to start running? ... Now is the time! 🏃♂️
-- Start slow and begin your runs with a very relaxed pace, picking it up slowly until you're running at your desired level. Starting off too fast will exhaust you early, and you'll feel sorer in your legs!

"Dreams don't work - unless you do."
8 miles and the first track workout I've done since the fall!
Can't pin down my splits but WO looked like this...
400m×1 +400m recovery, 200mx4 w/400m recovery between each,
400mx1 +400m recovery
Abt 3.5mi down
It felt SOOO good to get those lungs burning! It's been forever since I got some good sprints in and I LOOOVED it!! Ooh, and I got to break in my new Brooks tonight!! Ordered some @caterpylaces to go along with then and can't wait to get my favorite laces on them!!
Have a great nights peeps!!💚
Running marathons causes me to gain weight. 😜 So, once again I find my clothes too tight right after I just ran a marathon. 🙄 Any one else experience this? I know I just ran 26.2 miles. But that’s exactly it - I “just” ran 26.2 miles and haven’t run much since. I’m probably about 4-5 lbs heavier than normal (I don’t know for sure because I never weight myself but I can feel it in my clothes). This is a lot for my 5’3” frame. I know it happens because before the race, running decreases and carbo loading starts (I probably consume all my extra marathon calories that week) and then afterwards during “recovery” I’m not working out or very little. I’m sure there is an art to decreasing calories to so this doesn’t happen but I haven’t mastered that yet!
So, here I am ready to roll and ready to feel fit again for Boston - exactly 3 months from today!
Also, I’ve been taking photos with both my action camera, the Garmin VIRB (similar to GoPro) and my new iPhone X for comparison and the pictures from my iPhone have been winning every time! 👌🏼😊 #nofilter
〰️ And don’t forget to enter the giveaway for a @mercurymile box. Details in the last post. Contest ends tomorrow night! 😊
It’s a hill, get over it! - me, every time I had to run up this hill today
Confession time! I have a love/hate relationship with hill work. I know how important it is and love it when it’s done, but while I’m doing it, I’m secretly wishing I picked flatter courses for my marathons! 🙈😂
Today’s workout was a beauty and I’m so happy with the way I handled it; even if I wished I was running on a flat surface!
