First a high school, then a terrible prison during the Khmer Rouge regime (only a few dozens of prisoners actually survived) and today a Cambodian Genocide Museum.
It's very hard to believe and understand that these horrible things happened and have been happening in the world. Today's visit left us shocked and bewildered, feeling sick. The same way the War Remnants Museum in Saigon did, and the same way any other memorial or museum reminding the atrocities people commit, does.
They say "you see 3-4 temples in Thailand and you've seen them all." Oh well, not me. There are over 300 various wats (temples) in Chiang Mai; very easy to explore majority of them in the city center and find those with tranquil ambience.
Each year I return, there are new ones popping up.
I guess soon they gonna update the city guides with a new number...
